Job description

This role is an onsite role based in Abilene, TX.

Oversees Data Center Operations within a single data center or a small region, ensuring alignment with department goals and reporting to upper management. Leads performance evaluation, capacity analysis, and resolving physical, power, or cooling issues; fostering cross-functional collaboration and mentoring the team; managing support for escalated technical problems; and developing standardized processes and incident management protocols. Supports new data center builds and expansions, acts as a liaison with project teams, ensures adherence to world-class standards, and oversees installations, repairs, inventory, and logistics. Develops maintenance strategies and provides input on data center upgrades to maximize efficiency and stability.

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only
US: Hiring Range in USD from: $97,500 to $199,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

Key Responsibilities

Data Center Site Portfolio Management:

-Oversees Data Center Operations team in one data center or a small region containing multiple data centers.
Performance Monitoring and Analysis:
-Ensures alignment with department goals, and reports to upper management.
-Leads the performance evaluation and ensures alignment with department improvements.
-Oversees analysis of physical, power, and cooling capacity, and ensures proactive resolution of issues.
-Guides collaboration across functions to support continuous improvement efforts in alignment with industry best practices, and mentors team members.

Issue Management and Automation:
-Manages teams providing support for escalated complex technical issues.
-Defines strategies for issue triage and leverages automation, scheduling, and monitoring tools to prevent potential problems.
-Identifies, documents, and standardizes issues, processes, and solutions for the data center knowledge base, ensuring alignment with team needs.
-Coaches team members to implement strategy for incident or crisis management protocols in alignment with business continuity plans.
-Supports team members in performing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) following crises or incidents, and updates documentation to capture process improvements.
Data Center Expansion Support:
-Manages the support and direction of new region builds and expansion activities, both onsite and remotely.
-Acts as a central liaison with project teams and data center engineering, ensuring project timelines and capacity needs are managed for multiple expansion projects and site builds.
-Collaborates closely with project teams and oversees the implementation of world-class standards in expansion projects and site builds.

Installation and Maintenance:
-Manages a team responsible for installations, repairs, inventory management, and logistics tasks for data centers.
-Develops processes and guidelines for component replacements and upgrades.
-Provides strategic input on purchases or upgrades for data centers.
-Oversees coordination of rack deployments, installations, and network infrastructure upgrades/changes.
-Ensures effective maintenance strategies of the Data Center facilities with regard to efficiency and stability (e.g. containment, air flow & pressure, power trains).

-Creates and owns the execution plan for the team's work and multiple projects or initiatives, monitoring timelines and budgets when applicable to ensure projects are completed on time and in adherence with requirements. Collaboration & Partnership:
-Strengthens collaborative partnerships across teams to align on expectations and shared objectives. Guides team members to build relationships with business leaders, stakeholders, and/or customers to ensure effective collaboration. Practices active listening and asks insightful questions to promote an inclusive culture.
Problem Solving:
-Leads team to identify and address moderately complex operational and/or technical issues in accordance with standard practices, providing guidance as appropriate. Directs team to analyze data and/or information from multiple sources to troubleshoot moderately complex errors.
Continuous Learning:
-Actively seeks learning opportunities for self and team to enhance knowledge and skills in key areas and remain current with industry advancements. Uses feedback and training to elevate personal and team skills, modeling a commitment to learning. Identifies skill gaps within the team and supports team members in learning opportunities by providing resources and fostering an environment that encourages knowledge-sharing.
Continuous Improvement:
-Identifies and recommends improvements as well as encourages team to share ideas to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of processes, protocols, and workflows within a team. Reviews and provides feedback on team member's ideas and seeks input from others on alternative approaches and methods for improving work.
Performance and Development:
-Coaches and provides direction to team members in alignment with performance management processes, guidelines, and expectations. Facilitates goal setting discussions with team members, ensuring individual goals are aligned with broader team goals. Identifies development opportunities to help team member's improve performance. Contributes to the talent acquisition pipeline by leading candidate interviews, assessing promotion eligibility, and managing talent resources.
