Job description

We’re currently seeking a Staff Accountant to join our Headquarters team!

The Staff Accountant will have a solid foundation in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and plays a vital part in maintaining financial accuracy, supporting key reporting processes, and ensuring compliance. In this position, you must be knowledgeable in accounting, while also enjoying data, handling reconciliations, figuring out problems and issues, hitting deadlines, and continuously seeking to improve processes and procedures.

What you will do:

Core Accounting Functions:

  • Record daily financial transactions, including journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including closing sub-ledgers, preparing journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts, and conducting balance sheet account analysis to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, proactively identifying discrepancies and taking necessary corrective actions
  • Foster a flexible and adaptable team culture, encouraging a “roll-up-your-sleeves” attitude to meet evolving business needs
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports as needed
  • Assist with audit processes, providing documentation to internal and external auditors as needed
  • Maintain compliance with financial policies, procedures, and internal controls, and continuously provide feedback to improve efficiency
  • Participate in special projects or process improvement initiatives

Collaborating with Internal Partners:

  • Maintain open lines of communication with cross-functional teams to share insights
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting and make better business decisions

How you will shine:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of accounting experienceORrecent graduate with advanced accounting coursework and internship experience
  • Working knowledge of financial systems and tools, including ERP platforms (e.g. NetSuite, Oracle, SAP)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Approach new challenges with a hands-on attitude, demonstrating a willingness to learn and take on evolving responsibilities
  • Familiarity with U.S. GAAP and internal controls (preferred but not required)
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new systems and processes
  • Excellent attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in financial data and documentation
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for collaborating with internal teams, auditors, and external partners
