Project Engineering Intern – Full Circuit Internship Program

Power Up Your Career with Rogers

Who We Are

At Rogers Electric, we’re not just the largest self-performing electrical, data and lighting contractor in the U.S.—we’re a team of innovators, problem-solvers and industry leaders. With more than 40 years of experience, 1,500+ employees and 13 offices nationwide, we deliver everything from ground-up construction to national rollouts and preventative maintenance.

Our Full Circuit Project Engineering Internship Program is designed for students ready to move beyond traditional job shadowing. During this immersive, ten-week program, you’ll contribute to active projects, learn from experienced construction professionals and see how an electrical construction project moves from initial bid through final closeout.

Experience the Full Circuit

As a Project Engineering Intern, you’ll be embedded with a local Construction team and paired with a dedicated mentor. You’ll gain hands-on experience supporting real projects while collaborating with Project Managers, Project Engineers, field leaders and the teams responsible for successful project execution.

You’ll also work with interns across the country to complete Project Current, a full-lifecycle project simulation featuring realistic construction challenges such as material delays, manpower constraints, schedule changes and change orders.

What You’ll Experience

  • Support an active electrical construction project alongside Project Managers, Project Engineers and field leaders
  • Help maintain project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, drawings, meeting notes and material-tracking logs
  • Assist with project scheduling, procurement, change-order documentation and closeout activities
  • Participate in project meetings and jobsite visits
  • Learn how project teams monitor labor, cost, schedule, safety and quality
  • Gain exposure to Preconstruction, Safety, Finance, HR and other teams involved in project delivery
  • Use industry technology and construction-management software
  • Complete weekly deliverables as part of a collaborative, full-lifecycle project simulation
  • Present project work and recommendations to Rogers leaders
  • Receive ongoing mentorship, feedback and professional development throughout the program

Who We’re Looking For

This program is specifically designed for students who meet the following requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university
  • Entering the internship as a rising senior or graduating senior
  • Pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Construction or another directly related construction or engineering discipline
  • Interested in pursuing a career in Project Engineering, Project Management or electrical construction
  • Able to participate in the full ten-week internship program
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Organized and able to manage multiple assignments and deadlines
  • Detail-oriented, dependable and willing to ask questions
  • Comfortable working in both office and active jobsite environments
  • Adaptable, collaborative and receptive to feedback
  • Previous construction experience is helpful but not required
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus

What You’ll Gain

  • Meaningful responsibility on an active construction project
  • One-on-one mentorship from an experienced Rogers professional
  • Exposure to the complete electrical construction project lifecycle
  • Experience with construction technology, documentation and project controls
  • Opportunities to connect with leaders across Rogers
  • Professional feedback and career-development support
  • Consideration for future internships or full-time Project Engineer opportunities based on performance and business needs
  • A nationwide cohort experience with other Full Circuit interns
