Legato, LLC recruiters (Staffing@legatocorp.com) would love to speak with you regarding the following position: Operations Research Analyst in Fort Meade, MD.
Security Clearance Required: TS/SCI w/ Polygraph
Salary Range: $200,000-$215,000, depending on experience.
What You Will Do:

As an Operations Research Analyst, you’re passionate about exploring the root cause of an issue and then analyzing, reporting, and developing recommendations for a creative solution. We need an experienced research analyst like you to help us solve complex problems for our clients. On our analysis and application development team, you'll help solve complex analytical problems, assist with developing process improvement solutions, and create applications and tools to enhance productivity. You won’t go at it alone, you will help guide a team to develop study plans, conduct research, create models and tools, brief decision makers, and write reports. In this role, you’ll use your passion for analytics and statistics to devise modeling and measuring techniques utilizing mathematics, statistical methods, engineering methods, operational mathematics techniques such as linear programming, simulation, task automation, and other principles and laws of scientific and economic disciplines. Use your operations research knowledge to develop technologies and concepts that advance efficiencies for customers.

Our Requirements for this Role:

  • At least ten (10) years of experience with conducting analysis of management and operational problems using operations research techniques
  • Four (4) years of experience with the application of modeling and simulation to address decision analysis problems
  • Four (4) years of experience conducting multiple objective decision analysis or cost benefit analysis in support of research objectives
  • Four (4) years of experience with PANDAS, R, Excel and VBA, ARENA, OCTAVE, Tableau, Gurobi and CPLEX, EXTENDSIM, SAS, NETICA, stats models, Stata, MATLAB, or SPSS
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field

Desired Experience:

  • Experience with developing and performing verification and validation of models to ensure adequacy
  • Experience developing and delivering training materials for operations research techniques
  • Experience conducting problem definition and gathering data requirements from stakeholders
  • Experience briefing results and preparing written reports on analytic approaches and methodologies
  • Experience with the use of machine learning and large language models to solve complex problems
  • Master’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field
