Job Description:
Job SummaryResponsible for supporting laboratory operations by transporting patient specimens, supplies, and CAP surveys between collection sites and laboratories. Assists with specimen storage, inventory management, and disposal of old specimens. Completes non-technical tasks such as pouring off specimens, restocking supplies, and maintaining organization in processing areas. Ensures timely and accurate delivery of materials to facilitate efficient laboratory workflow. Contributes to patient care by providing reliable and responsive support services within the clinical laboratory environment.
Maintains competency in applicable work areas and adheres to policies and procedures.
Manages laboratory inventory, stock rotation, and storage to prevent product expiration.
Maintains a clean, organized, and well-stocked workspace.
Performs timely specimen pick-up, delivery, triage, and proper documentation.
Prepares, processes, and disposes of specimens according to laboratory protocols.
Performs quality assurance, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting as required.
Communicates courteously and empathetically with patients, providers, and team members.
Participates in training, competency assessments, and continuing education activities.
Supports laboratory process improvement and assists with clerical tasks as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalent experience
0-1 years of experience in a healthcare, clinical setting, or a relevant area
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
All experience must be paid and in the same related field.
Part-time and PRN experience will be prorated based on hours worked per week.
