Job Description
Assembles and welds shells, rings, and feet for generators. Also corrects settings, speeds, and feeds on welders including proper setup of product to be welded.
Duties & Responsibilities Information:
  • Assembles and welds shells, rings, and feet for generators
  • Places stator core on mandrel, asssembles shell and rings
  • Guages height and then tacks weld together
  • Assembles and welds feet to frame and core assembly
  • Corrects settings on welders including speeds and feeds as well as proper setup of product to be welded
  • Inspects quality of material being welded to prevent rework
  • Includes MIG welding
  • Protects other employees from flash of arc which could cause damage to eyes
  • Wears welding hood, gloves, and other protection as dictated
  • Exercises good housekeeping in work area
  • Observes good safety practices in performance of job
  • Performs daily/weekly TPM tasks and completes checksheets
  • Performs other job duties as assigned by Supervisor or Team Leader

Necessary Skills:
  • Must be able to read complicated drawings, decimal dimensions on blueprints, utilize precise measuring devices and use to perform own setups
