Position Summary
The Dean of Students Office, incollaboration with Nusenda Federal Credit Union, is seeking an AssistantDirector to help develop and advance the Nusenda Center for FinancialCapability and its mission. The purpose of the Assistant Director is to engage infacilitating interactive financial literacy training with students, staff, andfaculty at the University of New Mexico. This position will assist in providingresources to help students be more financially proficient and make betterfinancial decisions that will impact the rest of their lives. Students eligiblefor service possess variable financial and budgeting proficiency and areactively pursuing a business degree at The James and Gail Ellis School ofBusiness Leadership. The successful applicant will have experience givingpresentations, must be dynamic and flexible, and should have interest inperforming research on financial topics. This position will be customerservice-oriented, but candidates should also be ready to learn clientinteraction and financial coaching. The successful Assistant Director will beinterested in learning more about how to provide students and community memberswith the opportunity to better understand financial resources,responsibilities, and best practices.
Assist in developingeducational materials and presentations for UNM departments, organizations, andgroups, including (but not limited to): New Student Orientation, ethnicresource centers, student success groups, UNM courses, student organizations.
- Support marketingprofessionals in the development of promotional material.
- Assist in preparing anddelivering presentations to classes, student groups, incoming freshmen, andtransfer students on student financial capability topics such as credit,student loans, money management and budgeting.
- Assist in the evaluationprograms and collect surveys related to financial capability training and theirefficacy.
- Receive training in financialliteracy to help assist with the ongoing execution of the program.
- Table for the departmentduring New Student Orientation tabling opportunities each week during freshmanand transfer student orientation sessions as needed.
- Assist in the promotion andmarketing of the Nusenda Center for Financial Capability and its services toaid in the establishment of the Center in the Dean of Students Office at theUniversity of New Mexico.
- Assist in the development andfacilitation of four workshops during each semester on various financial topicsto incentivize students to continue to build their financial management skillswhile tracking attendance and baseline utilization records from theseworkshops.
- Must be a James and GailEllis School of Business Leadership student studying business, with preferencefor finance and accounting majors. Opportunities for Internship credit may beavailable to students who meet these criteria.
- Consult with student clientson budget management and financial responsibility as needed in one-on-onemeetings.
- Maintain confidentialityagreements with clients.
- Attend monthly performancecheck-ins to evaluate fellow performance and duties, as well as receive/provideprogram feedback in areas to improve the program.

Declared major and/or activeenrollment in the James and Gail Ellis School of Business Leadership as abusiness degree-seeking student
Current enrollment at UNM forat least 6 credit hours (excluding audit hours)

- Familiarity with Microsoft OfficeSuite products - particularly Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel
- Experience with Zoom, Teams,and other videoconferencing tools
- Prior experience in publicspeaking
- Ability to work bothindependently and in a team environment
- Involvement with other UNMcampus organizations (ie student organizations, Greek Life, ASUNM)
