Job description

This role stands at the intersection of management and technical expertise, orchestrating the efforts of engineering teams to ensure projects meet specifications, deadlines, and budget requirements. This position requires both engineering acumen and leadership skills, enabling the Manager to guide their team through complex challenges while fostering an environment of innovation and continuous improvement.
Essential Functions:
  • Design, control, and implement mechanical structures and products with a focus on aerospace and industrial connector contacts
  • Develop manufacturing processes according to global engineering codes and standards.
  • Manage engineering projects and deliver them on time
  • Work with customers and team members to define product needs and requirements
  • Ensure that installations and applications align with customer needs and safety standards.
  • Research to create new applications and processes
  • Summarize data and report on test results
  • Maintain functionality of Process and/or Product Development Engineer duties in assigned area(s)
  • Examine needs for new equipment, calculate costs, and help prepare budgets
  • Continuously improve company products and processes
  • Attend or designate coverage for production stand-up, waste, value stream team, product management, and factory project planning meetings
  • Lead engineering team meetings for assigned areas of responsibility
  • Drive actions and monitor the progress of engineer activities in support of product qualification and value stream team objectives
  • Ensure the utilization of formal documentation techniques
  • Execute the departmental administrative duties related to attendance, conditional release of purchase requisitions, and performance management systems
  • Oversee and manage a team to ensure effective performance, job satisfaction, and contributing to individuals' career goals
  • Approximately 10% domestic and international travel expected

Required Skills:
  • Proven experience in engineering roles, with a track record of successful project management
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and guide a team
  • Training and experience with FMEA creation and deployment methodologies
  • Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and standards
  • Basic arithmetic: add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages.
  • Statistics: Interpret and analyze numerical data using statistical methods.
  • Basic algebra: The ability to manipulate symbols and equations to find unknown values, express relationships, and model situations.
  • Basic Geometry: The ability to understand and work with shapes, angles, lines, and planes.
  • Computer Software: Proficient in CAD (Creo preferred), MS Office including Excel, Word, and SharePoint is necessary. Knowledge of ERP systems.
  • Practical Knowledge: Practical knowledge of machines, production plants, and sites
  • Mentor & Coaching: Mentor and coach interns, engineers, and technical staff, providing guidance and feedback to foster professional growth and development
  • Adaptability: Learn many skills on the job
  • Strong communication skills to effectively convey standards and procedures
  • Reliable and flexible to work additional hours on short notice to complete orders or special projects to meet customer or internal demands
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision

The base salary range for this role is $120,000 USD - $150,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. PCD considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
