Job description

Field Engineer - Contract - Ontario, Canada
Join a leading telecommunications organization supporting the deployment and maintenance of 4G LTE networks across Ontario, Canada. This is opportunity for an experienced Field Engineer with hands-on expertise in 4G RAN technologies, including AirScale, Flexi eNodeB, BBU/RRU platforms, and OSS tools.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on large-scale wireless network deployments and support mission-critical telecom infrastructure. You'll collaborate with engineering, logistics, and multi-vendor teams while gaining exposure to end-to-end LTE network operations. If you enjoy field work, troubleshooting complex network issues, and working independently at remote sites, this role offers an excellent environment to grow your technical expertise.
Contract Duration: 6-12 Months
Required Skills & Experience
  • Proven hands-on experience with 4G RAN hardware
  • Experience with AirScale and Flexi eNodeB platforms
  • Experience installing and troubleshooting BBU/RRU equipment
  • Knowledge of SFP modules and router connectivity
  • Experience with GNSS antenna installation and daisy-chaining
  • Strong understanding of RAN-to-Core interfaces (S1, X2, IP/MPLS, O&M)
  • Experience with fiber optics, cabling, grounding, and power requirements
  • Experience using Nokia NetAct, BTS Site Manager, or equivalent OSS tools
  • Experience with telecom inventory systems, hardware allocation, and serial number tracking
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills
  • Ability to travel to different gateways/sites across Ontario
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience supporting LTE network deployment projects
  • Experience with ERP or telecom warehouse inventory systems
  • Experience coordinating with logistics, procurement, and warehouse teams
  • Multi-vendor wireless network experience
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently in remote field environments
What You Will Be Doing
Tech Breakdown
  • 70% 4G LTE RAN Hardware (AirScale, Flexi eNodeB, BBU/RRU)
  • 20% NetAct, BTS Site Manager, and OSS Tools
  • 10% Inventory Management & Logistics Coordination
Daily Responsibilities
  • 80% Hands-on installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of LTE equipment
  • 10% Inventory tracking, documentation, and reporting
  • 10% Collaboration with engineering, logistics, procurement, and multi-vendor teams
