This position is for a traveling Field Enginner. You must be able to travel to jobsites within the southeast. Company pays for travel home twice a month.
Stewart/Perry is a company focused on building relationships as well as exceptional projects. Headquartered on a 16-acre campus in Birmingham, Alabama, we specialize in commercial and retail construction across the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic. Since 1984, we have delivered high-quality work in 23 states. While retail construction remains a cornerstone of our business, we have steadily expanded into other sectors.
We are looking for a Field Engineer to join one of our traveling project teams. This is a full-time, jobsite-based position that supports the Project Superintendent in managing day-to-day field operations and maintaining the quality and progress of the project.
The Field Engineer position is designed to provide hands-on training and experience for someone interested in pursuing a career in field leadership. What You'll Do:
  • Review construction drawings and specifications and accurately pull dimensions.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs from project drawings.
  • Prepare drawing markups, track progress, and identify completed work.
  • Assist with quality control to confirm work complies with project plans and specifications.
  • Use Bluebeam and other project software to manage drawings, documentation, and project information.
  • Prepare and distribute markups to subcontractors.
  • Draft, submit, and track requests for information (RFIs).
  • Maintain accurate project records and documentation.
  • Assist with the coordination and supervision of onsite personnel and subcontractors.
  • Help identify solutions when drawings or specifications do not provide sufficient information.
  • Communicate professionally with project inspectors, subcontractors, public officials, owners, and other jobsite visitors.
  • Develop and track subcontractor punch lists throughout the project.
  • Attend subcontractor and owner-architect-contractor meetings and assist with meeting minutes.
  • Take and review photographs for daily reports.
  • Use available technology to capture 360-degree and aerial images documenting project progress.
  • Survey and verify elevations using a tripod level.
