Job Description

This Software Engineer is responsible for the analysis, design, testing, development, deployment, and maintenance of best-in-class software experiences. The Software Engineer - Full Stack builds and supports web applications, APIs, business-tier components, and database solutions using Microsoft platform technologies and modern web development practices.

The successful candidate is a self-motivated collaborator who works effectively within a team and across the organization, takes ownership of software deliverables, and applies U.S. Bank standards to protect reliability, security, and the customer experience. The role requires proficiency with the agile software development lifecycle and DevOps principles.

U.S. Bank is looking for a skilled software engineer who is comfortable with both front and back-end programming to develop and support existing and new applications. The main scope of work will include back-end and client-side code using appropriate technologies and frameworks. Required skills include problem solving and solution design skills to create high-quality code as part of an agile team.

  • Using Microsoft platform technologies (ASP.NET Web API) and Azure, design, build, test, implement and modify existing business-tier components, Web applications, and database objects

  • Design user interactions and back-end website applications.

  • Design, develop effective APIs and consume existing APIs

  • Create and execute test scenarios in line with test plans.

  • Code and test computer programs of varying complexity and scope, utilizing standard procedures and techniques.

  • Assists technical team to investigate, analyze, and resolve technical problems related to system functions, programming, and procedures.

  • Write documentation of procedures used in the system.

  • Develop detailed flowcharts to show processing logic for programs.

  • Participate in some application architecture functions.

  • Stay current with changes in web architecture and programming languages

  • Participate in code review sessions before merging code

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree relevant field or equivalent work experience

  • 4+ years of experience with developing and implementing web applications

  • Strong organization and project management skills

  • Proficiency with fundamental front-end web languages and frameworks

  • Proficiency with database technologies

  • Attention to detail with good problem-solving skills

  • Comfortable learning independently and with others

  • Independent contributor with strong business analysis skills

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Application Development Tools: SQL Server Management Studio, Visual Studio, Gitlab, static code analysis

  • Software development life cycle and agile techniques

  • C# ASP.NET MVC / .NET Framework (at least 4.8 or above)

  • Web Technologies: HTML5, XML, XSL, JavaScript, Node

  • Client-side framework: jQuery

  • Automated Testing, NUnit, XUnit, Selenium, or Playwright

  • MS SQL Server 2016+

  • SQL Server Integration Services

  • Modeling: data, process, events, objects

  • IT and security standards and procedures

  • Multi-Tiered Applications

  • Dynamic Web Form toolkits such as Alpaca Forms or JSON Forms

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Telerik/Progress Kendo UI

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $105,400.00 - $124,000.00
