Position Overview
In this role, you will design and develop intuitive, responsive, and user-focused applications that support mission-critical systems and end users. You will work closely with software developers, stakeholders, and users to translate functional requirements and workflows into effective user interfaces and experiences. This role requires a combination of front-end development expertise and an understanding of UI/UX design principles, with hands-on experience using Angular and/or Node.js. You will contribute throughout the application development lifecycle, from design and prototyping through implementation, testing, and ongoing enhancement, while helping improve usability, accessibility, performance, and consistency across applications.
Job Duties
  • Design and develop responsive, intuitive, and user-friendly web applications and interfaces.
  • Develop and maintain front-end application components using Angular and/or Node.js.
  • Translate business requirements, user needs, and workflows into functional UI/UX solutions.
  • Create wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and user flows to communicate design concepts.
  • Develop reusable UI components and help maintain consistency across applications.
  • Integrate front-end interfaces with APIs, backend services, and application functionality.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, product owners, stakeholders, and end users throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Conduct usability reviews and incorporate user and stakeholder feedback into application enhancements.
  • Identify and resolve usability, accessibility, performance, and front-end application issues.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing activities, and Agile development ceremonies.
  • Support the modernization and continuous improvement of existing applications and user interfaces.

Required Qualifications
  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
  • 4+ years of experience in UI/UX development, front-end development, web application development, or a related software development role.
  • Hands-on development experience with Angular and/or Node.js.
  • Experience developing applications using JavaScript and/or TypeScript.
  • Strong proficiency with HTML and CSS.
  • Experience developing responsive web interfaces across multiple devices and screen sizes.
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design, usability, and modern UI/UX principles.
  • Experience translating requirements, wireframes, mockups, or design concepts into functional user interfaces.
  • Experience integrating front-end applications with REST APIs or backend services.
  • Experience developing and maintaining reusable UI components.
  • Experience debugging front-end functionality, usability, and performance issues.
  • Proficiency with version control systems such as Git.
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance.

Nice to Have Qualifications
  • Experience with both Angular and Node.js.
  • Experience with UI/UX design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or similar platforms.
  • Experience creating wireframes, prototypes, user flows, and interactive design concepts.
  • Familiarity with Section 508, WCAG, and web accessibility standards.
  • Experience developing or maintaining design systems and reusable component libraries.
  • Experience with additional modern JavaScript frameworks or libraries such as React or Vue.js.
  • Experience with automated unit, integration, or front-end testing frameworks.
  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and modern software development workflows.
  • Familiarity with Docker, AWS, or other cloud-based development environments.
  • Experience working within Agile or Scrum development teams.
  • A BS or higher in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Information Technology, Web Design, or a related field.
  • Previous experience supporting Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, or other federal government customers.
