Job description

The NFL is seeking a Seasonal Vertical Video editor and programmer to work with the Digital Video team on producing content for the NFL's YouTube and social channels, focusing on the ideation, curation, and execution of vertical video. The Digital Video team is responsible for distributing and programming content across the NFL's digital ecosystem, reaching millions of NFL fans each day. The Vertical Video editor will play a key role in producing short form content for NFL Media digital platforms, as well as engaging fans on YouTube and social by programming engaging content for NFL's broad fanbase leveraging content from games, NFL podcasts, NFL studio shows, NFL archive, and premiere NFL events such as Playoffs and Super Bowl.  

Responsibilities

  • Upload videos daily in a timely manner to all NFL YouTube channels and NFL Media owned social platforms with a focus on the short form vertical format, ensuring that content, titles and descriptions meet NFL brand, legal and editorial requirements. 
  • Select, edit, and reformat content across the NFL ecosystem including but not limited to podcasts, studio shows, social, etc to engage fans across NFL YouTube channels (e.g. NFL, NFL Flag, NFL Rush, NFL Pro, etc.).
  • Monitor consumption and performance of content with the analytics group, understanding algorithm trends and sharing key learnings and insights with colleagues, clubs, etc.
  • Attend production meetings and brainstorms providing expertise on how to position/package content for YouTube and helping to develop new concepts or extensions of content tailored for YouTube.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across social, marketing, programming, and production to ensure content from NFL podcasts, studio shows and long form content is optimized for vertical distribution across NFL YouTube Channels and NFL Media social platforms. 
  • Research NFL history for pertinent projects.
  • Utilize the NFL robust library of shows and games to re-purpose segments from features into short form vertical video content 

Required Qualifications

  • Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, Holidays, and special events/instances of breaking news
  • Strongknowledge of NFLfootball (Teams, Players, History, Major Storylines)
  • Strong Adobe Photoshop and Premiere skills and demonstrated ability in all aspects of video production.
  • 1-3 years of experience programming and creating vertical content for YouTube, TikTok, Instagram 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field preferred
