This includes systems built on distributed data technologies such as Cassandra and graph-oriented data models that represent relationships at global scale.

As a technical leader, this role partners with senior engineering and data architecture leadership to define and implement test strategy for distributed, highly available, and eventually consistent systems. This includes establishing standards, best practices, and architectural patterns for validating data integrity, lineage correctness, and graph relationship consistency across services.

Specific Responsibilities include:

  • Strategically partner with technical leadership to define system architecture, standards, and best practices for test automation, including performance validation (latency, throughput, resource utilization), backward compatibility, and safe data migration for evolving schemas and graph structures
  • Lead peer reviews and provide technical leadership in test automation, including solutions for eventual consistency, conflict resolution, and large-scale data propagation across distributed systems
  • Mentor and train engineers, with a focus on solving complex distributed system challenges and building robust, data-aware test systems
  • Design and execute automated testing strategies, including fault injection, chaos testing for database reliability, and performance benchmarking and capacity planning for read/write-intensive systems
  • Develop automated test code, including load and stress tests that simulate real-world genealogical usage patterns, concurrency models, and system behavior at scale
  • Collaborate with architects and engineering teams to ensure quality is embedded in system design, including identifying bottlenecks across storage, query execution, and graph traversal layers
  • Lead validation of system reliability and failure handling, including resilience, graceful degradation, and stability in distributed environments
