The AI Software Engineer Intern works as part of a software development team to design, develop, test, and maintain software solutions that meet business and product needs.
This role represents the evolution of the traditional Software Developer Intern. The team follows established software development practices including Agile delivery, requirements and user stories, source control, peer review, testing, deployment processes, and architectural standards. However, AI-assisted development is expected to be a fundamental part of how modern software engineering is performed.
Interns will learn how to use AI development tools throughout the software development lifecycle to generate and modify implementations, create tests, troubleshoot problems, understand unfamiliar code, develop documentation, and improve existing solutions. At the same time, interns will develop the software engineering fundamentals necessary to critically evaluate what AI produces and ensure resulting software meets established standards.
The internship provides hands-on experience with both professional software engineering practices and the emerging AI-native tools that are changing how modern software is developed.
