Job description

Position Summary

Systems Engineer in the Advanced Airborne RF Sensors department within the Space and Airborne Systems Engineering and Test Capability (SE&TC) Center. This onsite role is located in Atlanta, Georgia. Candidates must be U.S. citizens and able to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret clearance.

What You Will Do
  • Develop innovative solutions to complex technical challenges in signal processing design.
  • Create or modify existing electronic warfare signal processing and control algorithms.
  • Develop and execute test plans, including test simulations and lab tests to verify system capability.
  • Evaluate and assess functional performance of developmental RF systems, including signal processing subsystems and firmware/control algorithms.
  • Support planning and execution of Integration, Verification, or Troubleshoot Test activities in labs and in the field.
  • Support troubleshooting and failure data analyses, including root cause and corrective action processes and advanced use of lab or field test equipment.
  • Complete and compile detailed performance evaluations, including the use of analysis tools such as MATLAB.
  • Prepare and present results in reports and briefings to internal or external stakeholders.
  • Maintain engineering specifications and drawings.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to Engineering Integrated Product Team Leads (IPTLs).
  • Participate in periodic team meetings, interface teleconference meetings, and working group meetings.
  • Support implementation of process requirements.
What You Will Learn

After completion of comprehensive on‑the‑job training, you will be part of a team supporting systems engineering, integration, and test activities across the product development lifecycle.

Qualifications – Must Have
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with a preference for Computer Science or Physics, and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience troubleshooting technical issues with electronics in academic or internship settings, including the use of commercial test equipment such as oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret clearance prior to the start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications – Preferred
  • Advanced degree in STEM disciplines, preferably Physics or Computer Science.
  • Experience in RF system design, digital and analog signal processing, waveform and signal modulation characteristics and analysis, and/or algorithm implementation and testing.
  • Experience with electrical schematics, interface control documentation, and communications protocols.
  • Experience integrating software and firmware onto electronic hardware systems.
  • Experience with reading and integrating software routines with hardware/electronics; C/C++/C# preferred.
  • Experience with tools such as Microsoft Office, MATLAB, or Python for data analysis and automation.

Salary range: USD 68,900 – 131,100.
