Role Overview
The Security Analyst supports enterprise information security initiatives by administering, configuring, and maintaining Microsoft 365 security technologies and endpoint management solutions. This role works closely with security, network, and end-user support teams to implement security controls, manage device compliance, remediate vulnerabilities, and support policy-driven security initiatives. The position plays a critical role in protecting organizational information assets while ensuring compliance with state and federal security requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Microsoft 365 Security & Endpoint Management
  • Administer and support Microsoft 365 security tools and services with a focus on endpoint protection and compliance
  • Configure, deploy, and manage Microsoft Intune for enterprise device management
  • Enroll and manage Windows, iOS, iPadOS, Android, and macOS devices
  • Develop and maintain secure device onboarding standards and security baselines
Application Deployment & Software Management
  • Package, deploy, and maintain Win32, Line-of-Business (LOB), Microsoft Store, and enterprise applications
  • Manage software deployment, updates, and version control through Intune
  • Support software lifecycle management across end-user devices
  • Monitor and remediate software vulnerabilities and outdated applications
Data Protection & Compliance
  • Configure and deploy Microsoft Purview security and compliance solutions
  • Create and manage sensitivity labels to classify, protect, and encrypt organizational data
  • Implement data protection controls including sensitive information types, Exact Data Match (EDM), and trainable classifiers
  • Support compliance initiatives aligned with security policies and regulatory requirements
Security Operations & Policy Implementation
  • Research, recommend, and implement security controls and best practices
  • Assist in the development and implementation of security policies and procedures
  • Support interpretation and implementation of state and federal security requirements
  • Collaborate with security teams to strengthen organizational security posture
Endpoint Security & Vulnerability Management
  • Inventory endpoint devices and installed software
  • Identify, assess, and remediate security vulnerabilities
  • Support Windows Update for Business configurations, update rings, and feature deployment strategies
  • Ensure endpoint systems remain compliant with organizational standards
Technical Support & Knowledge Transfer
  • Provide technical support for Microsoft 365 security tools and end-user technologies
  • Troubleshoot security-related issues affecting user devices and applications
  • Transfer knowledge and provide guidance to internal staff on security technologies and best practices
  • Serve as a resource for security tool implementation and operational support
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 5 or more years of professional IT experience in multi-platform environments
  • Experience supporting enterprise Microsoft 365 environments
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Intune and endpoint management
  • Experience supporting Windows, macOS, iOS, iPadOS, and Android devices
  • Experience with Microsoft security and compliance technologies including Purview and BitLocker
  • Strong desktop support experience for Microsoft products and end-user technologies
  • Experience with software deployment, patch management, and vulnerability remediation
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in government, public safety, or law enforcement environments
  • Familiarity with CJIS security requirements and government security frameworks
  • Experience implementing Microsoft 365 E3, E5, and Business Premium security capabilities
  • Experience developing endpoint security baselines and compliance policies
  • Microsoft security or endpoint management certifications
