We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team developing automated mobile heavy equipment that removes humans from dull, dirty, and dangerous jobs. In this role, you will design, draft and support innovative systems that advance safety and efficiency in demanding industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities
  • Create and manage CAD models and drawings, including importing, simplifying, and documenting designs.
  • Develop CAD models of existing hardware to support integration and improvement.
  • Collaborate with product owners to define requirements and ensure designs meet performance, safety, and usability goals.
  • On shape Modeling: Organize 3D sheet metal parts and complex, multi-part assemblies using on-shape.
  • Drawings & GD&T: Create detailed 2D fabrication drawings (PDF) including proper GD&T (ASME Y14.5), annotations, welding symbols, and bend information.
  • Sheet Metal Optimization: Design sheet metal parts, create flat patterns for fabrication.
  • Assemblies & BOMs: Manage large assembly files, including hardware, sub-assemblies, and generate accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) including electrical drawing revisions and buyout part information.
  • Documentation Control: Maintain, update, and revise drawings and assemblies based on engineering change requests. (ECRs)
  • Attention to Detail: This person will be able to catch mistakes while reviewing drawings, assemblies and ask questions related to each BOM that will enhance the product and correct any issues before drawings and BOMs are finalized.
  • Provide technical input to support the creation of assembly documentation, operator manuals, and maintenance guides.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master's a plus).
  • 1 to 4 years of experience working in Robotics/Automotive or similar domain.
  • Good experience in mechanical design, automation, robotics, or related areas (internships count).
  • Proficiency in CAD software (On-shape - preferred, SolidWorks, Creo, or similar) for modeling and drawing creation.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems, materials, and manufacturing methods.
  • Good understanding of GD&T and Welding process.
  • Hands-on experience with prototyping, testing, or hardware builds preferred.
  • Basic understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated interest in automation, robotics, or safety-critical systems is a plus.
