Job description

PROLIM (www.prolim.com) is currently seeking an Engineer Digital 3 for one of our top clients, Northrop Grumman Corporation, in Linthicum (Baltimore), MD (100% Onsite).
This is an exciting opportunity for experienced FPGA Design Engineers with expertise in Xilinx FPGA, Microchip RTG4, Vivado, Libero, SERDES, and digital logic design to support the development of advanced space and defense technologies.

  • Pay Rate: $70.00 - $80.00/hour (W2)
  • Schedule: Full-Time | 40 Hours/Week | 5x8 (Monday-Friday)
  • Experience Required: 5-15 Years
  • U.S. Citizenship: Required
  • Security Clearance: Not Required (Active DoD Top Secret Clearance is a plus)

Job Responsibilities
  • Design and develop FPGA-based digital logic for advanced space and satellite applications.
  • Develop FPGA solutions for satellite command & control and sensor data processing systems.
  • Create, modify, and implement digital logic using Xilinx and Microchip (RTG4) FPGA platforms.
  • Perform FPGA simulation, verification, validation, and hardware integration.
  • Develop high-speed SERDES interfaces (10G/40G) and support system-level testing.
  • Prepare design documentation, analysis reports, and test reports.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to develop innovative aerospace and defense solutions.
  • Participate in technical reviews and communicate design progress effectively.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline with 6-8 years of FPGA or Digital ASIC development experience, OR
  • Master's Degree with 6+ years of related experience, OR
  • PhD with 3+ years of related experience.
  • Hands-on experience with FPGA firmware development.
  • Strong experience with Xilinx Vivado and Microchip Libero toolsets.
  • Experience with Xilinx Ultrascale, Ultrascale+, Zynq SoC/FPGA, and RTG4 FPGA platforms.
  • Experience developing High-Speed SERDES (10G+).
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Active DoD Top Secret Clearance.
  • Experience translating system requirements into FPGA architectures.
  • Strong experience with MATLAB & Simulink.
  • Experience with Digital Signal Processing (DSP).
  • Familiarity with Questa Simulation and OSVVM.
  • Experience developing simulation test benches.
  • Knowledge of Systems Engineering principles.
  • Experience with Versal FPGA architecture.
  • Ability to present technical solutions during design reviews and customer meetings.
