Job description

Are you passionate about revolutionizing the developer experience at one of the world's largest advertising platforms? Join Amazon Ads Developer Experience team where you'll shape the future of how thousands of developers integrate with Amazon's advertising capabilities. You'll design and build scalable solutions that reduce time-to-market for new features while maintaining consistency across APIs, Machine Learning (MCP) tools, Skills, Knowledge bases, and Streams.
In this high-impact role, you'll collaborate with Ads feature owners to identify optimal launch strategies and create domain model-centric solutions that enable seamless developer experiences. Your technical leadership will influence organizational decisions and drive results through cross-functional collaboration, making Amazon Ads more accessible and impactful for developers worldwide.
Key job responsibilities
- Lead architectural decisions for Amazon Ads developer interfaces, designing scalable solutions that reduce feature launch complexity and maintain consistency across multiple surfaces
- Drive technical strategy for the Amazon Ads Domain Model, collaborating with product teams to ensure optimal API generation and SDK development
- Influence cross-organizational initiatives by building consensus on technical approaches and mentoring engineers to deliver high-quality, extensible systems
- Partner with Ads feature owners to identify launch strategies and implement solutions that accelerate time-to-market while ensuring robust operational practices
- Own team architecture decisions, providing system-wide design guidance and driving adoption of engineering best practices across the Developer Experience organization
A day in the life
You'll start your day collaborating with Ads feature owners to assess new launch requirements and identify the most effective technical approaches. You'll spend time reviewing architectural designs with your team, ensuring solutions integrate seamlessly with the Federated API Gateway and Amazon Ads Domain Model. Throughout the day, you'll mentor engineers, participate in design reviews, and work on reducing integration complexity for both internal product teams and external developers using Amazon Ads APIs and SDKs.
About the team
The Developer Experience (DX) team owns the complete Amazon Ads developer experience through programmatic interfaces that partners, developers, and agents rely on daily. We deliver consistent, simple domain models, APIs, SDKs, MCP tools, artificial intelligence skills, and agent-to-agent integrations for best-in-class developer experiences and advanced programmatic workflows.
Our mission is lowering integration costs for Amazon Ads capabilities while reducing the effort required for internal product teams to expose new features through our developer interfaces. We own key products including the Federated API Gateway, Amazon Ads developer portals (internal and external), and the Amazon Ads Domain Model that generates APIs, specifications, and SDKs. Join us in building the foundation that powers innovative advertising solutions across Amazon's ecosystem.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
