Medical Billing Specialist

Granger Medical Clinic has an immediate opening for a Medical Billing Specialist at our Taylorsville, UT headquarters. This is a full-time position part of our Revenue Cycle department and will be responsible for analyzing and researching claims to identify issues and ensure appropriate resolution. 

Responsibilities:

  • Accurate analytical, problem solving, and mathematical abilities with advanced level of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Effective verbal and written communication and human relation skills
  • Resolves various billing edits and denials within established timelines
  • Identifies trends and issues and communicates their recommendation for resolution to the supervisor/manager
  • Follow-up (phone, e-mail, payer websites, and regular mail) with insurance companies regarding claim status and payment
  • Writes appeal letters using the established insurance guidelines to resolve collection barriers
  • Respond to written and email correspondence within established timelines
  • Reports departmental issues and concerns to supervisor
  • Utilizes systems, various documents and reports to identify and correct errors accurately and within established timeframes
  • Contacts insurance companies, third party payers, banks, attorneys or individuals (by phone, e-mail, payer websites and regular mail) for resolution of accounts accurately and within established timeframes

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Two years medical billing experience required
