Job description

NDI Engineering Company is seeking a self-motivated Technical Writer who will be responsible for the development and maintenance of Navy Technical Manuals, Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs), Maintenance Standards, corrective and planned maintenance procedures. The right candidate excels in working in a fast-paced team environment and is quick thinking and dependable.
Role and Responsibilities:
The candidate will work with a team of subject matter experts and system engineers to development and maintain technical content that supports U.S. Navy communication systems. Specific tasks include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Research vendor manuals, publications, illustrations, and drawings and develop original content that references and reuses relevant information
  • Develop and maintain original content (procedures) based on engineering and subject matter expert input
  • Re-write and re-format technical manuals, diagrams, charts, illustrations, and informal notes from engineers and subject matter experts
  • Adhere to established document quality standards
  • Maintain records and files of work and revisions per an established document development life cycle
  • Adapt technical content created for one format to another
  • Coordinate with system engineers and subject matter experts, to ensure all developed content is consistent, validated, and verified
Requirements:
  • Excellent oral, written communications, and editing skills.
  • Detail oriented and analytical.
