Job description

The Director, Business Development is responsible for evaluating and executing the company's mergers and acquisitions, licensing transactions, and strategic partnerships across the enterprise. Working closely for and with the SVP of Business Development and Strategy, this position will serve as a key liaison between Repligen businesses, external companies and partners to build a portfolio of investments and acquisitions aimed at driving double digit growth and profitability in bioprocessing.
This is a hands on, detail oriented leadership role. The successful candidate will operate comfortably across all levels of the organization, as well as with internal and external partners -driving analyses, deal execution, and cross functional coordination required to conduct due diligence, close and integrate transactions and strategic investments in a public company environment. Experience in biopharma, med tech, and/or bioprocessing - as well as assessing and applying digital / AI solutions across a portfolio - preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work cross-functionally to support and drive business strategy development, search and evaluation of new and complementary technologies, and support due diligence and integration of partnerships and/or M&A
  • Support development of multi-year cross-functional business strategy including ongoing evaluation of growth opportunities, financial assessments, and forecasts (working with FP&A and product leaders)
  • Develop and lead execution of RGEN's general framework/approach to evaluate partnerships, licensing, and M&A opportunities in collaboration with product leaders. Analysis to include partners/target capabilities, market positioning, strategic alignment with RGEN portfolio, and corporate prioritization of opportunities
  • Manage cross functional teams through multiple simultaneous due diligence on strict timelines. Lead the communication and incorporation of findings in strategic assessments, deal financials and transaction terms.
  • Drive and own detailed financial analysis supporting the transaction; Working internally with the Finance function, Financial Accounting and Legal advisors
  • Lead and support negotiation of deal terms, structuring of transaction and drafting of definitive agreements
  • Participate and take leadership positions in the integration of technologies and operations into Repligen

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred
  • 5-7 years of experience in business development, investment banking, management consulting, private equity, or related fields
  • Demonstrated experience executing M&A and licensing transactions within a public company environment
  • Strong financial and analytical capability, including valuation, deal modeling, and ROI analysis
  • Skillset to assess and apply digital / AI companies, tools and services
  • Experience in life sciences, biopharma, bioprocessing or med tech M&A preferred

The estimated base salary range for this role, based in the United States of America is $208,000-$299,000. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to an individual's qualifications, location, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, employees are eligible to participate in one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
