Job description

Focus of the Business Systems Administration internship is to develop skills and apply knowledge to advance system maintenance and implementation initiatives in the Financial Management and Procurement Services (FMPS) division. Business Systems Administration internship will analyze business processes, identify inefficiencies, assess information requirements, and create powerful business solutions using technology.

  • Learn and practice skills in supporting a financial management and procurement services team with improvements in service quality to achieve best-in-class standards.
  • Use various software solutions to aggregate and analyze data to aid the organization in better decision-making to achieve optimized operations.
  • Use accounting, finance, supply chain, and statistics education to collect, analyze, model, and interpret data.
  • Deliver effective communication with division staff and leadership.
  • Learn from experience staff on data mining from ERP/business systems such as Workday.
  • Work within a team that fosters transparency and collaboration.
Education and Experience Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must be currently enrolled full-time at an accredited institution and have completed at least one semester of schooling by the start of the program.
  • Must be 18 years or older at the time the appointment begins.
  • If accepting an offer, must pass a screening drug test.
  • Majors: Management Information Systems, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Industrial Engineering, Business Analytics
  • Departments: Business Systems and Transformation, Financial Management, and Budget.
  • Completed at least two years of undergraduate academics in business logistics analytics, computer science, industrial engineering, mathematics, statistics or similar program and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on 4.0 scale.
  • A desire to participate in a dynamic work environment with competing deadlines.
  • Ability to be a highly motivated and self-starting and seeking a future career in a business profession.
  • Desire to learn about modernizing business disciplines of accounting, business administration, economics, finance, etc. through integration with data analysis, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Data Visualization.
  • Ability to negotiate between large scale project goals and individual work assignments
  • Ability to assist in difficult situations and keep composure and confidence.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Outlook, Excel) required,
  • Knowledge of and experience with Power BI, Tableau, "R" programming preferred
  • Great aptitude for math and processing logic.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

The expected hiring range for this position is $18.08 - $39.17.
