Your Role:
The HR Generalist supports a growing organization by ensuring scalable, compliant, and employee-centered People operations. This role partners closely with the People Team, leaders and employees to support organizational change, and deliver consistent employee experiences across the full employee lifecycle. The HR Generalist plays a critical role in org readiness and process excellence during periods of growth and transformation.
Key Responsibilities:
Onboarding, Engagement, & Culture
  • Own and lead the end-to-end preboarding and onboarding experience, ensuring a seamless and welcoming transition for all new employees.
  • Coordinate logistics for onboarding sessions, including scheduling, materials, and technology setup
  • Design, plan, and host onboarding day every two weeks, delivering a consistent and engaging introduction to the company and culture.
  • Partner with HR, IT, and hiring managers to ensure timely delivery of equipment, system access, and orientation resources
  • Ensure all preboarding activities are completed accurately prior to start date.
  • Partner with managers to drive effective onboarding plans.
  • Continuously improve onboarding through feedback and scalable enhancements.
  • Partner on engagement and reinforce company culture.

Internship Program
  • Plan and facilitate the Avid Internship program, from aligning with managers on internship roles, to facilitating the summer program with key events and activities.
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to ensure timely hiring of interns.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to brand internship program and utilize for further employee branding.
  • Continuously improve Internship program to ensure a great intern experience.

Workforce Planning & Org Readiness
  • Support internal mobility, employee changes, promotions, and reorganizations, ensuring documentation, approvals, and system updates are accurate and timely.
  • Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition Coordinator by providing policy context and onboarding readiness.

HR Operations, Systems & Digital Enablement
  • Support employee lifecycle transactions including new hire setup, job changes, compensation updates, leaves, and terminations.
  • Support initiatives to automate, standardize, and improve HR processes to support scale and efficiency.

Employee Relations & Compliance
  • Support the Business Partners on employee relations concerns, by participating in fact-finding, documentation, and recommendations in partnership with HR leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including documentation and recordkeeping requirements.
  • Support investigations, corrective actions, and policy interpretation with consistency and discretion.
  • Promote a respectful, inclusive, and high-accountability work environment.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3+ years of progressive HR Generalist or People Operations experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of California employment law.
  • Experience supporting managers in a fast-growing or changing organization.
  • Proficiency with HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar certification preferred.
  • Experience in biotech, life sciences, manufacturing, or regulated environments preferred.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This role is a full-time onsite position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm PST unless otherwise stated by Supervisor. The employee must also have the ability to work overtime and/or weekends when necessary.
Compensation:
We offer competitive compensation packages for this role, including a base salary, performance-based bonuses, and comprehensive benefits such as health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
The compensation range for this role is $72,000 - $90,000 annually depending on experience and qualifications. Additionally, we offer opportunities for career growth and development as well as a supportive and inclusive work environment.
