The five-year MBA program comprises 157 academic hours of coursework, including an embedded undergraduate degree in Business Administration (Bachelor of Science). This approach encompasses a liberal education curriculum and a comprehensive background in accounting, technology, and engineering-based business. Job Description
- Teach undergraduate and graduate-level accounting courses, including but not limited to
financial accounting, managerial accounting, auditing, and taxation.
- Provide instruction based on course descriptions, outlines, and class schedules.
- Engage in scholarly research in accounting and business, with the opportunity to publish in leading academic journals.
- Advise and mentor students in their academic and career development.
- Participate in departmental meetings, faculty committees, and university-wide initiatives.
- Contribute to the growth and development of the 5-year MBA program and curriculum.
- Maintain professional development through continued research, conferences, and
workshops.
- Maintain accurate academic records.
- Assess student performance and remain current with the discipline's content, technology,
teaching and learning strategies.
- Collaborate with colleagues to review and revise curriculum, course development, teaching materials and teaching methods to promote student success and lifelong learning.
- Work closely with the School Dean to create a space for collaboration with local and
national entities to support the program goals and engage in fundraising.
- Maintain academic standards and professional ethics.
- Identify and implement recruitment strategies to increase enrollment in the department.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Chair of Business Administration and Dean.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Accounting or a closely related field from an accredited institution (or ABD with expected completion date).
- A strong record of, or potential for, scholarly research and publication in peer-reviewed journals.
- Experience teaching at the university level is preferred.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to engage students and foster a positive learning environment.
- Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA, or similar) is desirable but not required.
