Job description

For over 50 years, Plastic Ingenuity has been designing and manufacturing innovative packaging solutions for customers across North America. Our success is built on five core values: Friendly & Genuine, Resourceful, Collaborative, Customer-Focused, and Dependable.
If you enjoy working with your hands, solving mechanical problems, building things, or figuring out how equipment works, this could be the perfect opportunity to start a rewarding career in machining and tooling. Whether you're a recent graduate, have a mechanical background, or simply want to grow your technical skills, we'll provide the training and support to help you succeed.
Why Join Plastic Ingenuity?
Build a Career, Not Just a Job
  • Learn directly from experienced Tool & Die and Machining professionals
  • Gain hands-on experience with precision machining, mold building, and CNC equipment
  • Clear opportunities for advancement as your skills grow
  • Work on highly customized projects from start to finish

Enjoy a Great Work Environment
  • 4-day work week
  • Clean, modern, climate-controlled shop
  • Stable, growing company with long-term career opportunities
  • Low-volume, high-variety work-no repetitive production machining
  • Supportive team that values learning and development

What You'll Do
As an Entry-Level Tooling Machinist, you'll work alongside experienced machinists and toolmakers while developing valuable technical skills.
You'll have the opportunity to:
  • Learn how to sharpen and maintain tooling components using precision grinding equipment
  • Assist with machining operations including drilling, milling, turning, and CNC machining
  • Help build, repair, and maintain molds and tooling used in manufacturing
  • Learn CNC machine setup and make basic program adjustments
  • Read and interpret prints, measurements, and specifications
  • Maintain quality standards and follow safe work practices
  • Keep tools, equipment, and work areas organized and ready for use
  • Collaborate with tooling, engineering, and production teams to solve problems and improve processes

What We're Looking For
We're less concerned about years of experience and more interested in people who are mechanically inclined and eager to learn.
You may be a great fit if you:
  • Enjoy working with tools, machinery, or mechanical equipment
  • Like building, fixing, troubleshooting, or creating things
  • Have a strong attention to detail
  • Take pride in quality workmanship
  • Are dependable and willing to learn from experienced teammates
  • Work well in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical coursework, certification, or degree in Machining, Manufacturing, Tool & Die, Machine Tool Technology, or a related field
  • Previous experience in a machine shop, manufacturing environment, internship, or technical program
  • Familiarity with basic machining tools and measuring equipment

Don't meet every qualification? We still encourage mechanically minded candidates who are eager to learn to apply.
