About the Job
 

Applications are invited for postdoctoral positions in Applied Mathematics at the University of Minnesota. The role offers a variety of opportunities to develop mathematical theory and computational methods and collaborate with translational scientists and clinicians to apply mathematical modeling to accelerate the development of novel therapies for cancer, neurodegenerative conditions, and other diseases.  

We seek candidates with strong expertise in one or more of the following areas: stochastic processes and applied probability, mathematical modeling of complex systems, dynamical systems, partial differential equations, and scientific computing. Candidates interested in developing and analyzing mechanistic mathematical models motivated by biological and therapeutic applications are particularly encouraged to apply. Expertise in statistical or machine-learning methods is also welcome, as connection with experimental and clinical data is important for our work. Prior experience in cancer biology, immunology, or cell biology is a plus.

Note that H-1B sponsorship may be provided to those who currently hold a valid visa and are present in the United States.

Required Qualifications: PhD in the mathematical sciences or a closely-related field.

About the Department
 

Postdocs will work with the Therapy Modeling and Design Center led by Jasmine Foo, Kevin Leder and David Odde. Appointments are initially for one year with renewal contingent upon satisfactory performance and funding. 

Pay and Benefits
 

Pay Range: $69,000 (12-month, 100% salary)
