Job description

The impact you'll make
The Social Impact Specialist will support the planning and execution of Lam's global social impact programs, focusing on employee giving and volunteerism, grant making and community relations. In this role, you'll help Lam exemplify one of our key guiding principles: Act with Purpose for a Better World. This role operates within established social impact programs and processes, supporting execution under the direction of the Sr. Manager, Social Impact and Brand Amplification.
What you'll do
  • Support the day to day execution of Lam's global social impact programs by completing assigned operational, administrative, and reporting tasks within established processes.
  • Manage social impact data and reporting activities, including:
    • Sending post event surveys to nonprofit partners
    • Collecting, validating, and storing impact data in a central repository
    • Supporting administration of impact tracking and measurement tools
    • Pulling data and supporting written inputs for award submissions using provided frameworks
  • Administer Benevity and volunteer infrastructure, including:
    • Ensuring events are approved and required waivers are completed
    • Supporting general event logistics and volunteer readiness
    • Sending communications, collecting photos, distributing surveys, and tracking survey responses
  • Provide employee-facing support by responding to inbox inquiries and questions related to volunteering, giving, and social impact programs in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain social impact web pages and resources, ensuring content is current, templates are available, and materials are easy for employees to find.
  • Support strong organization and documentation practices by:
    • Maintaining shared documents, trackers, and templates
    • Ensuring materials are up to date and distributed as needed
    • Flagging missing information, gaps, or risks to the team
  • Support social impact campaigns and events through logistical coordination, including:
    • Pre booking conference rooms in major locations
    • Managing calendars and deadlines with volunteer ambassadors
    • Tracking event capacity and participation
    • Ordering and tracking event materials such as t shirts
  • Serve as a local or regional point of contact when needed for hands on logistics, including supporting events with minimal travel when no on site coverage is available.

Who we're looking for
Passion for social impact, with a commitment to driving meaningful change.
• Proven expertise in cultural competence and fostering inclusive practices and programs.
• Experience using Benevity or similar employee engagement, giving, or volunteer platforms.
• Prior experience or internship in corporate social impact, CSR, or community engagement.
• Event planning or event support experience (preferred, not required).
• Experience supporting volunteer programs, campaigns, or employee-led initiatives.
• Demonstrated ability to build working relationships across sites and teams.
Preferred qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 1-4 years of relevant professional experience, including internships or early-career roles supporting social impact, corporate social responsibility (CSR), philanthropy, community engagement, or related programs.
• Experience supporting programs or initiatives through execution, coordination, and follow-through, rather than setting strategy.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy with data, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Comfort working with data, including collecting, validating, organizing, and maintaining information for reporting purposes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with a working understanding of how AI tools can be used to improve efficiency and accuracy in day-to-day work.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to take calls with nonprofit partners, respond to employee questions, and work effectively with internal stakeholders across regions.
• Ability to work independently on assigned responsibilities, manage daily tasks with minimal oversight, and escalate questions or risks as needed.
• Self-starter with the ability to remain calm under pressure and engaged in people-facing situations.
• Ability to flex work hours as needed, including occasional early morning or evening meetings to support global or regional activities.
• Based in or able to work regularly from Tualatin.
