Senior Project Manager – Aviation

Job Purpose

The Senior Project Manager oversees the planning, coordination, and completion of construction projects, achieving all phases from budgeting to closeout, while leading and organizing the project team.

Essential Functions
  • Active participation in RFP responses and leading the pitch.
  • Lead preconstruction efforts, including budget review during schematic design.
  • Manage contract review process with owners and subcontractors.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to project team.
  • Oversee project cost control and budget management.
  • Develop Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers.
  • Lead business development and client relationship management.
  • Contribute to company growth via internships and mentoring.
  • Develop training content and lead training classes.
  • Model professional behavior for all team members.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • May supervise a Project Manager, Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer, and/or Intern.
Job Requirements
  • Conscientious, flexible, strong work ethic and team‑first attitude.
  • Highly motivated with strong time‑management and prioritization skills.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication; able to relate to higher‑end clientele.
  • Strong estimating and budgeting skills; prepare and submit lump‑sum bid responses.
  • Strong financial acumen; manage budget and financial reporting.
  • Skilled in drawing review.
  • Experience managing field operations (scheduling, quality control, subcontractor coordination).
  • Solid technical background in construction trades.
  • Proficiency with scheduling software.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
  • Provide references and project list.
Education And Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Architecture or Engineering preferred; strong experience will be considered.
  • 9+ years of construction project management experience; or bachelor with 5+ years; or master with 3+ years.
  • 2‑3 years of experience specifically in internal fit‑out aviation construction projects.
  • Experience with field operations: scheduling, quality control, subcontractor coordination.
  • Background in construction trades and technical knowledge.
  • Proficiency with scheduling software.
Compensation

Pay Range: $135,000 – $219,000. Salary dependent on location, experience, skills, and internal equity.
