Job Description:
  • OptionMetrics is seeking an IT Operations Engineer to join our IT Operations team.
  • You will be responsible for day-to-day administration of the server/network infrastructure and related systems, utilizing cloud provisioning tools, and automating tasks using a scheduler.
  • You'll be highly detail-oriented and comfortable working independently as well as within a team.
  • You'll be learning about and working extensively with Linux, scripting, and AWS.
  • We're small, agile, casual (no suits - shoes optional), and passionate about our mission and the projects we create.
Note: This position requires working on-site at our NYC location at least 2-3 days per week. Current NYC COVID laws require proof of vaccination upon entry to the workplace. Candidates must be willing to reasonably accommodate both requests to be considered. The IT Operations Engineer will be required to work from 2:00pm - 10:00pm every third month
Responsibilities:
  • Monitor systems and applications including Linux, Windows, and AWS
  • Deploy applications across a multitude of servers and operating systems hosted on a cloud service
  • Use Bash and Python scripting to automate processes
  • Monitor Prod/Test/Dev environments for failures and ensure smooth operations
  • Work with HashiCorp Tech Stack/TeamCity and Amazon Web Services

Qualifications:
  • 2 years of Linux experience at an internship or on the job
  • 2 years of scripting experience on Linux
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure and best practices
  • Familiarity with writing SQL queries to troubleshoot data issues
  • Ability to work independently in a high-pressure environment
  • Bachelor's degree required. Any certifications are a plus.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, vendors, and customers
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

Additional Qualifications:
  • Some Windows server Administration
  • Experience handling a Linux server
  • Understanding of FTP management and troubleshooting
