WHAT YOU WILL DO (JOB SUMMARY) 

We are looking for Housekeeping Porters with high standards to complete our talented housekeeping team at the lodge.  Porters are responsible for delivering linens, removing dirty linens, removing garbage, and helping distribute supplies. Porters work actively with laundry to support the linen needs of the lodge rooms, villas, pool area, spa, and kitchen.  They may be asked to assist public attendants, housekeepers, or other departments to ensure that rooms and public spaces are cleaned for guest use and functions. We welcome seasonal or career-oriented applicants. The right people for this role are diligent and detail-oriented, and they also enjoy helping people and making a place like the lodge even more special and memorable for both our guests and our staff.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Distribute linens to rooms, villas, the pool, the spa, and the kitchen
  • Retrieve soiled linens, garbage, and recycling from rooms, villas, the pool, the spa, and the kitchen
  • Communicate linen requests with laundry to ensure timely service
  • Maintain cleanliness of housekeeping vacuums, closets, storage areas and other equipment
  • Assist with other housekeeping duties as assigned
  • Comply with housekeeping policies and procedures
  • Communicate professionally at all times with all staff and management
  • Support team members and interns while fostering a positive work environment
  • Work safely, address/report safety issues, and use proper personal protective equipment
  • Comply with work shift schedules and break requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including additional lodge support as needed

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or GED; college degree a plus
  • Minimum one-year prior work experience in housekeeping other customer service/hospitality preferred
  • Experience successfully living/working in rural/remote environment preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • The physical environment requires employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions, and to adhere to departmental uniform standards
  • Frequent walking, twisting, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, sitting, climbing stairs
  • Ability to stand and move continuously
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds and moving carts weighing 300 pounds
  • Working with required chemicals and PPE
  • Shifts of up to 8 hours per day, plus periodic additional overtime hours and help covering additional shifts when needed
