Job description

About Us

CurbWaste is a venture-backed, early-stage vertical SaaS company on a mission to modernize the waste and recycling industry - one of the most critical and underserved sectors in the world. Our customers are hard-working, no-frills operators running complex businesses with limited tools. We're here to change that.

With $50M raised and the backing of top-tier investors, we serve over 150 customers who rely on CurbWaste's all-in-one solution to power their operations. But we're just getting started. Our ambition is to become the system of record for the waste industry and support the people who keep our cities running.

At CurbWaste, we hold a high bar. We believe in trust, ownership, and a relentless focus on delivering value. We challenge each other to grow every day and live by values that shape how we show up:

  • Serve our customers, serve our industry
  • Be infinitely curious
  • Resourcefulness over resources
  • Win as a team, learn as a team
  • Do the 1% more

We're building something meaningful - and we're looking for big thinkers and humble warriors to join us.

About the Role

CurbWaste is looking for a Senior Product Manager to own our Dispatch and Driver Experience product areas - the operational core of how waste haulers plan and execute their day. This is the role responsible for turning the complexity of real-world field operations into software that dispatchers trust and drivers actually want to use.

You'll report to the Head of Product and work closely with engineering and design to drive the roadmap from discovery through delivery. You'll own some of our most technically complex and strategically important workstreams - route optimization, real-time dispatch tooling, the driver mobile app, and the telematics integrations that tie them together. You'll inherit a strong foundation and be expected to take it further.

Requirements

What You'll Do
  • Own the product roadmap for Dispatch, Driver Mobile, and Routing - translating dispatcher and driver workflows into prioritized, well-scoped features the engineering team can execute
  • Drive the continued build-out of our route optimization engine, including universal optimization across order types, constraint handling, and dispatcher-facing recommendation UX that builds trust over time
  • Lead product development on the driver mobile app - improving stop workflows, GPS-based automation, turn-by-turn navigation, and the day-of experience for drivers in the field
  • Own the dispatch product surface area - from day-of planning and order management to real-time visibility and route execution - ensuring dispatchers have the tools they need to run operations confidently
  • Own the integration strategy for hardware and data providers that power field operations - including telematics, geofencing, camera systems, and scale integrations - ensuring CurbWaste surfaces the right data at the right moment in the workflow
  • Conduct ongoing customer discovery with dispatchers and drivers - shadowing workflows, running interviews, and synthesizing qualitative insight into sharp product decisions
  • Partner closely with engineering to define technical architecture tradeoffs, write detailed PRDs, and maintain high delivery quality across a complex, integration-heavy surface area
  • Establish and track feature-level success metrics - from route optimization adoption to driver app stop completion rates - and use data to inform what to build next
  • Work with Sales and Customer Success to close feedback loops, understand how the product performs in the field, and identify gaps that affect retention and expansion
What You'll Need
  • 4+ years of product management experience in B2B SaaS, ideally in operations, logistics, or field service software
  • Deep familiarity with dispatch, routing, or fleet operations - either from domain experience or from shipping software in these spaces
  • Experience owning mobile product development, with a track record of shipping driver- or field-worker-facing apps that are adopted and used daily
  • Comfort with technical complexity - you can speak fluently with engineers about API architecture, real-time data systems, and third-party integrations without needing to be the one writing the code
  • Strong discovery instincts - you know how to get in front of users, ask the right questions, and synthesize what you hear into decisions that move the product forward
  • Ability to write precise, detailed PRDs and translate ambiguous problems into well-scoped engineering work
  • A bias toward action and delivery - you thrive in a fast-moving environment and know how to balance the long-term roadmap with near-term execution pressure
  • BA/BS required; background in engineering, logistics, or a technical discipline is a strong plus
Nice to Have
  • Background in waste management, logistics, field service, or municipal services
  • Experience with video telematics or AI dashcam integrations - including camera event APIs, video retrieval workflows, and using footage as a data signal in operational software
  • Experience integrating with telematics or fleet hardware providers
  • Familiarity with route optimization engines and the tradeoffs involved in tuning constraint handling - including time window, cost, and multi-variable optimization beyond simple distance minimization
  • Experience with GPS/geofencing systems and location-based mobile UX patterns

Benefits

Location

This role is based in New York City (3 days/week minimum in office).

What We Offer

This is not just a job, this is a career, it's an opportunity to make a real impact in a critical industry.

  • Competitive salary ($170k-$190k) based on experience, flexible time off, and ample opportunities for learning and development.
  • Flextime, recognition, and support for autonomous work. Enjoy flexible time off and generous learning and development opportunities to grow your career
  • Health benefits: Company-paid medical, dental, and vision
Our Mission

We aim to change the way waste companies run their business. We're a software company founded by haulers and built for haulers. We care about the environment and want to play a positive role in the future of the waste industry. Software helps create solutions, and we are focused on being the leaders in change.
