Compensation range: $43/hour - $48/hour


Role Overview


The ADAS Technician is a skilled technical role within the workshop, supporting prototype vehicle build-ups and updates, with a primary focus on advanced troubleshooting of ROV (Rest of Vehicle) issues impacting ADAS systems.

This role requires strong diagnostic capabilities, system-level understanding, and the ability to independently resolve complex vehicle issues.


Scope of the Role

  • Focus on diagnostics and problem resolution. Supports workshop operations.
  • Supports build-ups and updates
  • Acts as technical escalation point within workshop

Key Responsibilities

  • Advanced ROV (rest of vehicle) Troubleshooting
  • Diagnosing and Resolving complex vehicle issues affecting ADAS systems
  • Analyze problems across:

- Vehicle networks (CAN, Ethernet)

- Electrical & Mechanical faults

- ECU communication and integration issues

  • Perform root cause analysis and define corrective actions
  • Escalate and collaborate with foremen and engineering teams when required

Prototype Build-Up & Systems Integration

  • Support and execute installations, updates, and modifications on prototype vehicles
  • Ensure proper integration of ADAS hardware components

Collaboration & Support

  • Support Foreman in guiding junior technicians
  • Work closely with:

- Engineering teams

- Workshop leadership

- Project managers

  • Provide technical input on recurring issues and improvements

Documentation

  • Document: Issues, root causes and fixes. Test results and system status.
  • Maintain clear and structured records in tracking systems (e.g., JIRA)


Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Technical degree OR equivalent experience in Automotive, Electrical, or Mechatronics fields
  • 5+ years of automotive experience, with strong diagnostic focus
  • Hands-on experience with:

- Vehicle electrical systems and networks (CAN required)

- ECU flashing, coding and diagnostics

- ADAS components

  • Proven ability to perform independent troubleshooting and root cause analysis
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Valid California driver’s license
  • Occasional support also on the weekends (if necessary)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with prototype or pre-series vehicles
  • Familiarity with ADAS development environments
  • Experience with diagnostic and analysis tools (DTS Monaco, etc.)
  • Understanding of system interactions across ADAS and ROV domains
  • OEM or Tier 1 background
