Job description

Advantest, a leading Semiconductor Test and Measurement Company, is seeking a self-driven and creative Application Engineering Intern interested in Semiconductor Testing. The internship involves training on the V93000 platform and SmarTest 8 while supporting SJSU EE182 laboratory activities, student learning, and laboratory operations. This internship will be located in San Jose, CA.
Responsibilities:

  • Complete training on V93000 ATE and SmarTest 8.
  • Support SJSU EE182 laboratory sessions alongside Advantest Application Engineers.
  • Learn to operate V93000 test systems and related measurement equipment.
  • Assist with developing and maintaining laboratory and training materials.

Required Qualifications:

  • Progress towards or completion of a BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Coursework in Semiconductor devices/Device physics, Electrical circuits, Object Oriented Programming.
  • Prior completion of SJSU EE182 coursework.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Additional Skills Preferred (but not required):

  • Knowledge of mixed-signal testing concepts.
  • Experience with Java, Python, or Git. Familiarity with SmarTest 8 and semiconductor test environments.
  • Interest in semiconductor testing, automated test equipment (ATE), and engineering education.
  • Prior teaching assistant, tutoring, or mentoring experience.
