About the Role

Join ASM's growing Key Account Technology team, where you'll help drive product innovation, strengthen strategic customer partnerships, and support the successful adoption of next-generation ALD technologies.

As a Key Account Technologist (KAT), you will serve as a trusted technical advisor to customers, supporting new product introductions, product enhancements, and product modifications while helping secure Development Tool of Record (DTOR) wins and optimizing installed base performance.

Working closely with customers and cross-functional teams, you will help shape ASM's ALD technology roadmap, address technical challenges, and ensure customer requirements are translated into effective product and process solutions. Success in this role requires strong technical expertise, customer engagement, collaboration, and a proactive approach to Product Life Cycle (PLC) management.

This position requires Korean, Japanese, or Mandarin language skills.


RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead process application NPI (New Product Introduction), product improvements, and product modifications across the Key Product Unit (KPU) installed base.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers.
  • Serve as the primary technical interface for assigned customer accounts.
  • Drive resolution of process and hardware-related escalations in the field.
  • Define, maintain, and implement Best Known Method (BKM) processes for process applications, including standards, specifications, recipes, and installed base performance.
  • Partner with ASM customer account teams and customer engineering organizations to ensure customer requirements are understood and addressed.
  • Drive collaboration with key internal stakeholders, including Process Development, Global Sales, Service & Spares, Account Teams, Engineering, and Global Product Management (GPM).

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
  • Excellent Korean, Japanese, or Mandarin language skills, both written and verbal.
  • 5+ years of experience (or 3+ years with a Ph.D.) in the semiconductor wafer processing or capital equipment industry preferred.
  • Master's degree or above in Materials Science, Physics, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in process engineering, productivity, or similar technical customer-facing roles.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain trusted, long-term customer relationships.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation and influencing abilities.
  • Semiconductor industry experience focused primarily on thin film deposition and treatment - Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) and/or Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD), etc.
  • Experience with work function metals, metallization, silicides, and electrode applications in logic and/or memory is preferred.
