Position Summary

The Global Credit Risk, Operations & Optimization Director provides strategic leadership for Marathon Petroleum's global credit risk, collections, and Treasury optimization functions. This role leads a diverse team responsible for managing domestic and international credit exposure, delinquency and collection activities, and enterprise-wide Treasury technology initiatives. The Director develops and executes risk management strategies, partners closely with Commercial, Accounting, and Treasury leaders to mitigate financial risk, and maintains key relationships with strategic customers, banking institutions, and insurance providers to support business objectives and safeguard company assets.

In addition, the Director drives technology modernization and operational excellence across the Treasury organization, ensuring processes, systems, and controls effectively support the evolving needs of the business. The role provides oversight of credit evaluations, exposure management, and risk-based decision-making while fostering a high-performing team through the development of technical expertise, commercial acumen, industry knowledge, and leadership capabilities. Through a balanced focus on risk management, customer relationships, operational effectiveness, and talent development, this position enables sustainable growth and financial resilience across MPC's global operations.

Key Responsibilities

Lead a diverse team managing domestic and international credit risk, delinquency and collections as well as technology optimization efforts across Treasury.

Set strategies to develop and enhance relationships proactively addressing risk mitigation with key business partners including Commercial, Accounting, and Treasury.

Build and maintain relationships with strategic commercial customers across MPC's domestic and international trading customer base.

Lead and direct technology modernization and optimization efforts for the Treasury organization.

Manage key banking and insurance relationships associated with risk instruments and overall credit risks.

Direct credit risk reviews and adjustments relative to financial evaluations, credit exposure, and delinquencies.

Lead development of staff including professional, market/industry, commercial, and overall credit risk.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Marketing or related field is

required.

Ten (10) years of relevant experience is required; Credit, commercial,

optimization, and leadership experience is preferred.

Proficiency in creating and presenting materials to senior leaders is preferred.
