Intermediate Designer, Architectural Interiors Primarily responsible for activities related to design, space planning, and specifications of architectural interior products. Some of the tasks you will be working on are * Coordinating and implementing detailed plans to address customer requirements within allotted time and budget constraints. * Interacting with client account base and prospects, architectural wall vendors, sales team, design team, project coordinators/order management team, delivery/install team and various architectural, design and construction representatives. * Contributing to creative, cost-effective architectural wall solutions with accuracy. prioritizing and managing various scale projects with a high level of efficiency. Thriving in this role requires creativity, but also takes precision, and you'll have a customer service focus, and can balance multiple projects with ease. Main Duties and Responsibilities: * Consults with Sales & Architectural Interiors Teams in the layout and design of wall specifications for client offices.  Travel to client’s location to confirm critical site dimensions and/or finishes and other project details, when applicable. * Performs programming, space planning, wall type selection, layout, product pricing/quoting, design and selection of fabrics and finishes, includes as-built drawings and final installation drawings for specification and installation of architectural walls. * Provides professional customer interface on occasion by attending client planning meetings to determine architectural wall needs and develops solutions to meet these needs. * Presents solutions to Sales Team and the Customer as required.  * Coordinates, develops, and reviews proposed project designs, power/data plans with reference to architectural construction/electrical plans.  Prepares presentation material including renderings.  Reviews job site with sales/project PM to ensure critical site dimensions and power/data locations suit proposed architectural wall plans. * Validates plans against construction, electrical engineering, and Architect & Design (A&D) drawing sets and communicates any discrepancies.  Provides on-site job inspections comparing construction drawings to final build-out required. * Develops project specifications, audits specifications against plans, assures specifications are ready for order entry and manages changes and revisions. * Provides evidence of self-checks for specifications and performs audits of peer’s specifications to ensure accuracy pertaining to quantity, application, and finishes. * Verifies the company design standards have been met and national processes followed.  * Tracks, records and communicates chargeable design hours accrued on specific projects for job costing. * Works with Project Management team and install team to ensure installation meets customer specifications. * Act as a resource and assist in mentoring design team members in the policy & procedures, design standards of the Company   Knowledge | Skills Requirements: * Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills * Excellent presentation skills and rendering abilities * Computer literate (word processing, spreadsheets, project applications) * Expert knowledge of architectural walls and specification software * Good verbal and written communication skills * Ability to work with mathematical concepts * Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks * Ability to identify and distinguish colors. Experience: * Minimum of four (4) years in a related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience required.  * Prior experience in office furniture industry, general knowledge of Teknion architectural walls, and experience in customer interaction required.  * Experience with furniture and architectural wall design, and specification software required. * Experience with AutoCAD software required. Education: * Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design is preferred. * Or other related programs such as Architectural Technologist.   Working with Holmes & Brakel: This is a full-time, permanent position, working from Monday to Friday in our Pickering office.
