About the Role

As a Business Intelligence (BI) analyst, you will be an agent of change within the organization by being a major contributor to culture shift in relation to data. You will communicate with the senior leaders, managers, supervisors and functional experts of the various Canadian divisions to propose the implementation of strategic indicators on which they will base their decisions. You will participate in the discussion, planning and execution of key performance indicators and interactive dashboards.

Responsibilities:

You will work in close collaboration with several groups within the company (planning, production, operations, program management, engineering, supply chain, etc.) in a multi-site context. You will transform data into actionable insights and information for our internal customers by leveraging your business acumen. With your knowledge of business intelligence and your analytical skills, you will be able to assess the capabilities and possible applications of organizational data. You will offer coaching and support to internal BI contributors to develop their autonomy and raise their level of BI maturity. In short, you will be an ambassador of business intelligence in the organization.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Work with senior leadership and other business leaders to identify opportunities for improvement;
  • Create dashboards and data strategies for internal teams and / or external stakeholders;
  • Collaborate with team members to collect and analyze data;
  • Establish Key Performance Indicators to measure the effectiveness of business decisions;
  • Structure large data sets to find usable information;
  • Work with a team of analysts and other associates to process information;
  • Create presentations and reports based on recommendations and findings.

Required Capabilities

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric and Power BI
  • Proficiency in SQL and Power Query languages
  • Knowledge of data extraction, transformation and load (ETL) with SSIS and OLAP cubes
  • Ability to analyze and model business needs
  • Excellent communication skills in English (oral and written)
  • Ability to adapt in a dynamic environment and prioritize business requests
  • Agile to work simultaneously on one or more projects within a matrix organization
  • Familiarity with applying AI-driven analytics tools (e.g. predictive analytics in Microsoft Fabric) an asset
  • Experience preparing data and data models for AI ingestion an asset
  • Experience interfacing with customers and working in large enterprise, implementing complex solutions.
  • Experience in the aerospace and defense industry an asset
