Job description

Job Description: Reliability Intern


Function

The Reliability Intern will support the Reliability Group with equipment asset management, CMMS optimization, maintenance and operator care processes, and spare parts management across Rea Magnet Wire facilities. Based at the Fort Wayne plant, this role will collaborate with cross-functional teams and travel to other Rea locations as needed to support reliability and asset management projects.


Key Deliverables:

  1. Validate Equipment Asset List for Rea Plants
  • Verify that equipment asset records accurately reflect the equipment physically located at each Rea plant.
  1. Align Maintenance CMMS Asset Hierarchy with Financial Asset List
  • Compare and align CMMS equipment records with the financial asset list to ensure consistent and accurate asset information.
  1. Create and Apply Asset Tags to approved asset list
  • Develop and apply standardized asset identification tags to approved equipment for accurate tracking and identification.
  1. Validate Maintenance Tech Routes – possible PDA/mobile solution project
  • Review maintenance technician routes for accuracy and effectiveness while exploring PDA or mobile solutions to improve route execution and documentation.
  1. Validate Operator Care Routes – possible PDA/mobile solutions project
  • Review Operator Care routes to ensure required equipment checks and activities are accurate, practical, and suitable for potential mobile implementation.
  1. Set up Spare parts – Location, min/max qty’s and load into CMMS system

Organize spare parts by location, establish minimum and maximum inventory quantities, and enter validated information into the CMMS.


Position Specifications

Internship Duration: 1 year

Schedule: Flexible, approximately 20 to 30 hours per week

Hourly Rate: $25.00 per hour

IN PERSON / WILLING TO TRAVEL TO OTHER LOCATIONS AS NEEDED.

Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a degree, certificate, or technical education in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, Engineering Technology, Maintenance Technology, or a related technical field.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, or industrial processes.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications, with the ability to collect, organize, validate, and document technical information.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability and willingness to learn CMMS software and other digital maintenance systems.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in both office and manufacturing environments.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to other Rea Magnet Wire plant locations as required.


Preferred:

  • Previous internship, co-op, coursework, or hands-on experience in a manufacturing, maintenance, engineering, or industrial environment.
  • Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), preventive maintenance, or equipment asset management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with the ability to organize, validate, and analyze equipment and maintenance data.

Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
  • Work Environment: Incumbent will occasionally be exposed to Cold Temperatures <65 degrees and Heat >80 degrees. The environment is well lit; the noise level is often minimal, but incumbent may be exposed to higher than 85 decibels on occasion.
