POSITION SUMMARY:
Interns will learn and assist the Director of Operations with operational and administrative tasks while gaining valuable experience in the sports and recreation industry.
INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW:
  • Interns will complete a structured internship designed to provide real-world experience in sports management, with exposure to both operational execution and strategic, data-driven decision-making.
  • Preparing the venue for practice and competition
  • Coordinating with meet manager and officials throughout the competition
  • Inventory of all track & field equipment
  • Leading a Kids Fun Run Series and Community Running Series
  • Will complete an internship to gain real-world experience in sports management
  • Some students may have longer or shorter practicum requirements with less time commitment and commitment length will be addressed individually
  • We will develop an intern schedule to accommodate any individual requirements (i.e., class commitments)
  • Interns may be required to help during special events and additional projects that are not related to their specific area

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong desire to learn
  • Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently
  • Demonstrate success with multi-tasking and organizing multiple priorities
  • Self-motivated and has initiative to complete tasks in a timely fashion

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Must be willing to work outside for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to lift 30 pounds

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
  • Currently a student or a new graduate
  • A student majoring in finance, business administration, sport management or related field
