Description

Summary:

FRDA is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Junior Contracts Administrator to support the full lifecycle administration of federal government contracts, primarily within the Department of War (DoW) sector. This role will assist in ensuring compliance with FAR, DFARS, and company policies while supporting proposal preparation, contract execution, and post-award administration.

This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional to develop a strong foundation in government contracting within a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment, reporting directly to the corporate Director of Contracts.

The position will be based in Arlington, VA.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the administration of U.S. Government contracts, subcontracts, and task orders from award through closeout.
  • Review and interpret contract terms and conditions, including FAR/DFARS clauses.
  • Support proposal development activities, including RFP/RFQ review, compliance matrices, and contract representations and certifications.
  • Maintain contract files and documentation in accordance with company policy and audit requirements.
  • Track key contract milestones, deliverables, and funding statuses.
  • Support contract modifications, change management, and documentation updates.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders (e.g. PMs, finance, legal) to ensure contractual compliance and performance.
  • Assist with subcontract administration, including issuance, monitoring, and closeout.
  • Support audits and reviews (e.g. DCAA, DCMA, internal audits).
  • Monitor regulatory updates and assist in implementing process improvements.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A minimum of six  (6) months' experience in contracts administration, procurement, or government contracting (internships qualify).
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Legal Studies, or related field.
  • Basic understanding of FAR and/or DFARS.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office Suite (e.g. Excel).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active security clearance (Secret or higher).
  • Exposure to DoD/DoW contracting environments or government contractors
  • Experience supporting Federal proposals or contract lifecycle activities.
  • Familiarity with contract management systems (e.g., Deltek Costpoint).
  • Understanding of Federal contracting mechanisms (e.g. FFP, T&M, CPFF, IDIQ).
  • Internship or coursework related to government acquisition or procurement.
