Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled Bridge Design Engineer to join a growing engineering team in Loveland, OH. This role involves supporting bridge design, structural analysis, and rehabilitation projects while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. It is an excellent opportunity for early-career engineers seeking professional growth, hands-on project experience, and a pathway toward P.E. licensure.
Key Responsibilities
Bridge & Structural Design
  • Assist in the design and analysis of bridges and related structures, including:
    • Prestressed box beams
    • Slab bridges
    • Deck overlays
    • Minor structural rehabilitation
  • Prepare design calculations, technical reports, and project documentation in alignment with AASHTO, ODOT, and other applicable standards.
Hydraulic & Civil Analysis
  • Support hydraulic and scour evaluations for bridge projects.
  • Assist with drainage design, box culverts, and stream crossing analysis.
  • Provide engineering recommendations based on field conditions and environmental considerations.
Project Coordination
  • Collaborate with senior engineers, project managers, and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Participate in client and agency meetings as needed.
  • Maintain clear communication and updates throughout design phases.
Technical Drafting & Modeling
  • Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and related tools to prepare plans, profiles, and construction drawings.
  • Assist in 3D modeling and visualization tasks.
  • Ensure accuracy, quality, and consistency across all project deliverables.
Qualifications
Education & Licensure
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
  • EIT certification preferred or the ability to obtain in the near term.
  • Actively pursuing Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure.
Technical Experience
  • Experience with structural or bridge design (internship or professional).
  • Exposure to hydraulic, scour, or drainage analysis.
  • Familiarity with box culverts, stream crossings, and roadway/structure interface design.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D; willingness to learn new software tools.
