The Psychoeducational Diagnostic and Intervention Clinic (PDIC) is a university-based training and service clinic housed within Teachers College at Ball State University. The clinic provides comprehensive psychoeducational, psychological, developmental, behavioral, and diagnostic assessment services for children, adolescents, adults, families, schools, and community agencies. The PDIC serves as a critical training site for graduate students in School Psychology and related disciplines while providing high-quality, evidence-based services to individuals throughout East Central Indiana and beyond.
The clinic supports Ball State University's commitment to community engagement, experiential learning, and interdisciplinary collaboration by offering assessment, consultation, and intervention services that address academic, behavioral, social-emotional, developmental, and learning needs. Through close partnerships with schools, healthcare providers, families, and community organizations, PDIC contributes to improved educational and behavioral outcomes while preparing future practitioners.
PDIC is part of Ball State University's Interprofessional Community Clinics (ICCs), a collaborative network of clinical and training programs that provide integrated services across disciplines. The ICCs include programs in counseling, audiology, speech-language pathology, autism services, primary care, and other health and human service professions. Through its participation in the ICCs, PDIC contributes to an interprofessional model of care that emphasizes coordinated service delivery, collaborative training, shared operational infrastructure, and improved outcomes for individuals and families across the lifespan.
The Director of the Psychoeducational Diagnostic and Intervention Clinic (PDIC) is a 12-month professional staff position responsible for providing strategic, operational, and clinical leadership for the clinic. The position requires a balance of clinical leadership, student supervision, community engagement, operational oversight, and strategic planning to ensure the continued growth, effectiveness, and sustainability of the clinic. Responsibilities include teaching, supervision, clinical work, and clinic administrator oversight - and will ensure the delivery of high-quality assessment and intervention services while supporting the educational and training missions of Teachers College and the Department of Educational Psychology.

What you'll do and what you'll bring:
Position Function
The Director of the Psychoeducational Diagnostic and Intervention Clinic (PDIC) is responsible for providing strategic, operational, and clinical leadership for the clinic. The Director will ensure the delivery of high-quality assessment and intervention services while supporting the educational and training missions of Teachers College and the Department of Educational Psychology.
The Director reports to the Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs and Strategic Initiatives in Teachers College and works closely with School Psychology core faculty to support graduate training, accreditation requirements, student supervision, and program development. The Director also collaborates regularly with the directors and leadership team of the Interprofessional Community Clinics to advance interdisciplinary service delivery, shared initiatives, and community partnerships.
The position requires a balance of clinical leadership, student supervision, community engagement, operational oversight, and strategic planning to ensure the continued growth, effectiveness, and sustainability of the clinic. The clinic director's responsibilities will include teaching, supervision, clinical work, and clinic administrator oversight.
Duties / Responsibilities
1. Clinical Leadership and Service Delivery

• Provide leadership for the delivery of high-quality psychoeducational, psychological, behavioral, and related clinical services.
• Maintain clinical standards consistent with ethical, legal, accreditation, and university requirements (i.e., APTC).
• Conduct psychological, psychoeducational, developmental, and behavioral assessments as needed.
• Support the development and expansion of assessment and intervention services responsive to community needs.
• Ensure appropriate documentation, risk management, and quality assurance practices.
• Collaborator with the School Psychology EdS and PhD program in the Department of Educational Psychology.

2. Student Training and Supervision

• Supervise graduate student engaged in clinic-based practice, internships, and training experiences.
• Provide individual and group supervision in assessment, intervention, consultation, professional writing, and ethical practice.
• Collaborate with School Psychology faculty to support student learning outcomes, accreditation requirements, and professional competencies.
• Participate in the development and evaluation of clinical training experiences and student performance.

3. Clinic Administration and Operations

• Oversee day-to-day clinic operations, including scheduling processes, assessment materials, technology systems, record management, and workflow procedures.
• Collaborate with ICC administrative and operational personnel to support efficient clinic functioning.
• Monitor clinic utilization, financial performance, service outcomes, referral patterns, and client satisfaction.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures that promote operational effectiveness and service quality.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, FERPA, university policies, professional standards, and state regulations.

4. Interprofessional Community Clinic Collaboration

• Serve as the PDIC representative within the Interprofessional Community Clinics.
• Collaborate with ICC directors and leadership to support interdisciplinary service delivery and coordinated care models.
• Develop referral pathways and collaborative programming across clinic units.
• Participate in ICC planning, assessment, strategic initiatives, and quality improvement efforts.
• Support interprofessional education and training opportunities for students across disciplines.

5. Community Engagement and Strategic Development

• Cultivate and maintain partnerships with schools, healthcare providers, community agencies, and other stakeholders.
• Promote awareness of clinic services through outreach, presentations, and professional engagement activities.
• Contribute to strategic planning efforts that support clinic growth and sustainability.
• Support grant development, philanthropic initiatives, and external funding opportunities.
• Represent PDIC, Teachers College, the ICCs, and Ball State University in professional and community settings.

6. Additional Responsibilities

• Participate in departmental, college, and university initiatives as appropriate.
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts that support student success, community engagement, and clinical excellence.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in School Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, or a related psychology discipline from an accredited institution.
• Licensed Psychologist in the State of Indiana as a Health Service Provider in Psychology (HSPP), or eligibility for Indiana licensure at the time of appointment.
• Experience conducting psychoeducational, psychological, and behavioral assessments across various populations.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with key stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in School Psychology from a NASP or APA-accredited program
• Minimum of two years of professional experience providing psychological assessment and intervention services beyond doctoral internship or postdoctoral training.
• Demonstrated experience supervising graduate students, trainees, or clinical staff.
• Indiana licensure or eligibility as a School Psychologist.
• Experience working within university-based training clinics.
• Experience collaborating with K-12 schools and educational agencies.
• Experience with interdisciplinary or integrated healthcare service delivery models.
• Experience with clinic administration, budgeting, strategic planning, quality improvement, and program development.
• Experience pursuing or managing grants, contracts, or external partnerships.
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
