The Department of Athletics at Indiana Tech serves as an integral part of the university and is an important participant in its mission. The Athletics Department is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Assistant Women's Ice Hockey Coach to join our team. The Assistant Women's Ice Hockey Coach is primarily responsible for assisting with program needs as assigned by the Head Coach including, but not limited to the following.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assist in the planning, development and administration of certain aspects of the program
  • Assist in implementation of team policies aligning with the philosophy of the institution
  • Assist in the recruitment and retention of student-athletes
  • Assist in academic oversight of student-athletes
  • Execute secondary duties within the Department of Athletics as assigned
  • Support the mission, vision, and strategic plan of Indiana Tech
  • Aid the Head Coach in planning and executing in-gym sessions
  • Assist in player development
  • Assist in game day strategies and execution
  • Execute film breakdown and scouting
  • Oversee equipment and gear maintenance and arrangements.
  • Develop fundraising strategies
  • Coordinate travel logistic for on road contests and other needs
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the head coach or the athletic director

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required, master's degree preferred.
Experience
  • 1-3 years of coaching experience preferred

Working Conditions
  • Physical work and travel are required.
  • Nights and weekends required
  • Overtime hours required in season
  • Work is normally performed in the ice rink or athletic field setting.
