Job description

Arena Marketing Intern
This internship opportunity is with the Arena Marketing team at Toyota Center, where you'll help promote concerts, live entertainment, and special events. Please note that this role is focused on venue and event marketing and is separate from Houston Rockets internship positions.
RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
  • Demonstrate our One Team philosophy of Passion, Accountability, Customer Focus, and Teamwork.
  • Assist with marketing efforts for all Toyota Center concerts and events.
  • Create graphics via Canva or Photoshop for activations, events, and internal needs such as flyers, signage, customized gifts, etc.
  • Assist with managing ToyotaCenter.com website, including creating new event pages and promotional maintenance.
  • Assist with managing venue signage and arena marketing assets.
  • Assist with grassroots marketing, including event calendar listings, community activations, and external promotions.
  • Assist with media relations, artist gifting, back of house activations, and event-day duties as needed.
  • Assist the Arena Marketing Manager with social media tasks as needed.
  • Assist the Director of Arena Marketing with tasks related to advertising, marketing, public relations, and other projects as assigned.
  • Assist with Houston Rockets cross-promotional efforts as needed and provide occasional event and gameday support as needed.
  • Provide general support to Arena Marketing Department in daily operations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Eagerness to learn about the Event Marketing industry
  • Flexible schedule, including availability to work nights, weekends, long days, and holidays as needed
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop and/or Canva
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with all social media platforms
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Self-motivated and detail oriented
  • Strong verbal and written communication skill
  • Ability to meet deadlines and balance multiple tasks
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Car/driver’s license required

PHYSICAL amp; MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • The employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, use handle or feel, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, communicate with others.
  • The vision requirement includes the ability to review written and electronic materials in both digital and physical format.
  • The employee must be able to transfer and move items for departmental needs.
  • The employee must be able to adjust to changing work hours and locations as needed in light of the strong focus on external communications and relationships
