What is an internship in horse trail riding?

An internship in horse trail riding is an educational opportunity for individuals to gain hands-on experience working with horses, particularly in the context of trail rides. Interns often assist with horse care, guiding trail rides, and maintaining equipment, all while learning about horse behavior and safety practices. These internships can be valuable for those considering a career in equine management, outdoor recreation, or related fields. Interns typically work under the supervision of experienced staff and may also interact with guests or clients.

What are the typical responsibilities of an intern in horse trail riding?

As an intern in a horse trail riding program, you can expect to assist with preparing horses for rides, guiding trail riders, maintaining equipment, and ensuring the safety and comfort of both horses and guests. You'll also likely help with daily barn chores such as feeding, grooming, and cleaning stalls. This role often involves close collaboration with experienced trail guides, stable managers, and other interns, offering valuable hands-on experience in equine care and guest service. It's a dynamic environment that requires adaptability and a willingness to learn new skills quickly.
