Job description

Standard Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and motivated High Performance Computing (HPC) Systems Architect. The HPC Systems Architect will be responsible for development and sustainment of the HPC Architectures across the Classified IT Organization. This role will be responsible for establishing the direction of HPC service offerings along with meeting and enforcing architecture standards across the organization. The role will require the architect to interact closely with teams across Lockheed Martin IT and Engineering.
The ideal candidate for this position has the ability to establish big picture view and set overall direction for the proper use and implementation of HPC across the Corporation.
Other responsibilities include:
• Creation and sustainment of accurate systems architectures capable of describing the system to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Definition of the Architectural features and constraints for large classified multi-tenant HPC systems
• Development of roadmaps for HPC Technologies, service offerings and lifecycles throughout the full lifecycle of the systems
• Collaboration with the Systems engineering and Operations teams to ensure consistency of deployment
• Mentoring of both program and technical team members in the proper use of HPC technologies
Designs, develops and oversees system architectures, including complex systems and systems design activities. Serves as focal point for the development and communication of the system architecture. Ensures conversion of mission requirements into total systems solutions that account for design and technology maturity constraints of the system. Develops systems and system element architecture, design, and interface definition. Supports internal and external design reviews. Maintains knowledge of current and developing technologies and design and analysis methodologies. Develops models and architectural guidelines for current and future system development.
Basic Qualifications
• Active US SECRET clearance with the ability to Obatin and Maintain a Top Secret
• Knowledge of HPC Systems design, implementation and operation
• Experience with solutions architecting, visioneering, or strategy development
• Ability to understand vendor technologies, and shape roadmaps to meet vision
• Knowledge of common HPC Scheduling systems (Slurm, PBS, etc)
• Knowledge of classified systems cybersecuty controls
• Knowledge of common engineering use cases and applications
• Demonstrated experience to identify and build strong relationships with key stakeholders, customers, and colleagues to communicate requirements in a clear, precise and actionable manner
Desired Skills
• Understanding of High Performance Computing in classified multi-tenant systems
• Knowledge of Datacenter planning for high density computing systems
• Knowledge of Architecture Frameworks (DoDAF, TOGAF, etc)
• Experience defining and mapping architecture components to classified security controls (e.g. NISPOM, DAAPM, JSIG, RMF)
• Experience taking a High Performance Computing system from vision through implementation
• Knowledge of DevSecOps processes and software supply chain security (SBOMs, signing, verification)
• Experience with containerization (Podman, Docker, Kubernetes) and container security.
• Experience with CI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, ArgoCD, FluxCD, or similar).
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $148300.00 - $275500.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
