Job description

Responsibilities
Peraton is looking for a skilled Systems Engineer (SE) to support the customer's large High-Performance Computing (HPC) related program. This program is cutting edge and includes everything from HPC test planning and execution, architecture design and prototyping, and vendor outreach and collaboration support. Program technical areas include commercial cloud technologies, high performance computing, and enterprise architecture. The program is tactically important to the national security of the United States and the work on these missions are frequently recognized for their results and the Program Integrator will be directly involved in ensuring the government is successful in achieving their planned objectives of this growing, high-profile program.
The range of work includes managing and coordinating the portfolio's master schedule, deconstructing requirements into actionable and testable elements, drafting of statements of work describing customer's desired outcome for funded activities, and monitoring the customers' development and integration efforts against those requirements.
The selected individual will:
  • Contributes to the development of sections of systems engineering documentation such as System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements specifications, and Interface Control Documents.
  • Manages system requirements and derived requirements to ensure the delivery of production systems that are compatible with the defined system architecture(s) -Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF), Service-oriented Architecture.
  • Assists with the allocation of the same to individual hardware, software, facility, and personnel components
  • Perform analysis of technical alternatives for a project and make preliminary recommendations.
  • Assist in developing a new or innovative approach to a technical or engineering issue
  • Assist in conducting an evaluation to determine its suitability for project implementation.
  • Analyze and propose appropriate engineering standards and processes for a project.
  • Supervise or coordinate the work of other contractor engineers or technicians on a project.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • Position requires an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
  • Required Education and Experience:
    • A High School Diploma or GED plus fourteen (14) years of general systems engineering experience, OR
    • A Bachelor's degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus ten (10) years of systems engineering experience, OR
    • A Master's degree or PhD in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus eight (8) years of systems engineering experience.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience with High Performance Computing (HPC) test, to include General Purpose, Commercial, Custom Commercial, and Special Purpose Device HPCs highly desired.
  • Experience with Major Systems Acquisition, including development of Test and Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP), Working Integrated Product Teams (WIPTs), DT (Directorate of Test) and experience collaborated with independent test and test oversight also highly desired.

Target Salary Range
$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
