Skills & Key Responsibilities:
Design and Development

  • Design and optimize evaporators, condensers, compressors, chillers, and related refrigeration components.
  • Develop thermal systems using CFD, thermodynamic modeling, and engineering simulation tools.
  • Apply heat transfer, fluid flow, and refrigeration cycle principles to system design.
  • Select refrigerants, materials, and components based on safety, performance, cost, and environmental impact.
  • Support ammonia-based refrigeration systems, including plate freezers, chillers, cold rooms, and flake ice machines.
  • Ensure compliance with AHAM, ASHRAE, environmental, and applicable engineering standards.
Testing and Validation
  • Conduct prototype and system-level testing to verify performance and reliability.
  • Analyze cooling capacity, pressure, temperature, energy consumption, and refrigerant flow.
  • Troubleshoot heat transfer, pressure drop, refrigerant distribution, and component performance issues.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and support corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful system integration.
Optimization and Innovation
  • Research advancements in refrigeration, HVAC, compressors, refrigerants, and heat exchanger technologies.
  • Improve system energy efficiency, reliability, manufacturability, serviceability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Evaluate design alternatives using simulation, testing, and technical analysis.
  • Support continuous improvement and environmental compliance initiatives.
Documentation and Communication
  • Prepare schematics, calculations, specifications, test plans, and technical reports.
  • Maintain accurate engineering and validation documentation.
  • Present design updates, test findings, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Provide technical support during prototype development, production, installation, and commissioning.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Refrigeration Engineering, Thermal Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with industrial refrigeration, HVAC, cooling, or thermal systems.
  • Strong knowledge of ammonia-based refrigeration systems and safety practices.
  • Experience with evaporators, condensers, compressors, chillers, freezers, cold rooms, and heat exchangers.
  • Familiarity with AHAM and ASHRAE standards.
  • Experience with CFD, thermal analysis, or thermodynamic modeling tools.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
